CanadaThe shooting occurred in the parking lot of the wedding center in Ottawa, killing two people and injuring six.
The shooting happened at 22:21 on September 2 (9:9 on September 21, Hanoi) at the Infinity convention center in Ottawa, Canada, when two wedding parties were taking place here.
Ottawa police said the two dead were Said Mohamed Ali, 26, and Abdishakur Abdi-Dahir, 29, both from Toronto, and six people were injured. No suspects involved have been arrested.
“Investigators are examining the video and taking statements from those present at the scene. We will provide a suspect description to the public as soon as we have it,” said Eric Stubbs, Ottawa police chief.
A witness named Nico said chaos ensued after the shooting, with people running in different directions. “Several shots rang out in a short period of time, then screams, then more shots, probably 15-16 shots,” Nico said. Some people living near the shooting site said they heard 20-25 shots.
Ottawa police said there were no signs that the shooting was motivated by "racial or religious" hatred, but did not ignore this hypothesis. Police Chief Stubbs said he would look closely at the possibility that the shooting was related to gang activity.
