In keeping with the nationwide atmosphere of commemorating the 51st anniversary of the Liberation of Southern Vietnam (April 30, 1975 – April 30, 2026) and activities honoring those who have rendered meritorious service, the Tam Dao Rehabilitation Center for Meritorious Individuals (Tam Dao commune) is welcoming many delegations of meritorious individuals from various communes and wards in the province. These include wounded soldiers, sick soldiers, resistance fighters exposed to chemical toxins, and relatives of martyrs. In the peaceful setting amidst the Tam Dao mountains, healthcare services for these individuals are meticulously organized.

Mrs. Nguyen Thi Nen, the wife of a fallen soldier from Vinh Thanh commune, is undergoing rehabilitation training at the Tam Dao Center for the Care of War Veterans.
Mrs. Nguyen Thi Nen, the wife of a fallen soldier from Vinh Thanh commune, emotionally shared: "Each time I come for convalescence, which lasts about a week, I clearly feel the attentive care and concern of the staff. From the moment I arrive, I receive a health check-up, am given all necessary medication, and am carefully monitored throughout my stay. The meals are varied and nutritious, ensuring 'wholesome food and delicious soup,' which warms our hearts. For me, this is not just a time for rest and recuperation, but also an opportunity to deeply appreciate the gratitude of the Party and the State."
Sharing similar sentiments, war veteran Nguyen Van Binh from Vinh Tuong commune, who suffered 61% disability and lost a leg in the Central Highlands battlefield, shared: "Although my health has deteriorated due to war wounds, every time I return here, I always receive attentive care, from meals and sleep to rehabilitation. In particular, meeting and interacting with old comrades helps me alleviate the pain of my disability and gives me more strength in life."

War invalid Nguyen Van Binh from Vinh Tuong commune is receiving support from staff at the Tam Dao Center for the Care of War Veterans in rehabilitation exercises.
Since implementing the two-tiered government model, the Center has received and provided healthcare services to over 1,600 war veterans and their families in the province and some localities such as Can Tho and Da Nang cities. During each rehabilitation session, war veterans receive health check-ups and consultations, free medication; rehabilitation exercises; news updates, reading books and newspapers; cultural and sports activities; and visits to historical sites and scenic spots.
The meals at the center are based on scientifically designed menus, ensuring adequate nutrition and suitability to the tastes of the elderly. In particular, the selection of ingredients, processing, and preservation of food are strictly controlled to ensure food safety and hygiene.
Medical officer Bui Duy Tung shared: "Most of the people who come for nursing care are elderly, suffering from many chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, musculoskeletal disorders, and especially post-war sequelae. Therefore, the Center develops a care plan tailored to each individual; monitoring their health daily, measuring blood pressure twice a day, morning and evening. Those with diabetes receive strict control over their diet and health indicators. Beyond physical care, the unit also pays attention to their mental well-being, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. For the young medical staff, this is not just a job, but also a responsibility and a way of showing gratitude to the older generation."
Besides providing nursing care, the Center also regularly organizes activities to visit and give gifts to families entitled to preferential policies in the area, demonstrating its concern and responsibility towards those who have rendered meritorious service.

Those who contributed by reading books and newspapers and keeping up with current events during their time at the Tam Dao Rehabilitation Center for Meritorious Individuals should remember this.
Comrade Le Minh Son, Deputy Director of the Tam Dao Center for the Care of War Veterans, stated: "Identifying the care of war veterans as an important political task, the unit focuses on improving the quality of service, from the environmental landscape and living conditions to medical equipment. In the coming time, the Center will continue to implement solutions to improve the quality of care; and at the same time, request the province to pay attention to investing in facilities, especially transportation vehicles that have deteriorated due to frequent operation on mountainous terrain, in order to ensure safety and better serve war veterans."
The war is long over, but the wounds remain. With dedication and responsibility, the staff of the Center are contributing daily to alleviating the pain of war, so that each war veteran, upon returning home, not only receives healthcare but also feels the warmth, compassion, and continuity of human values.
