- Through comprehensive, people-centered solutions, the Huu Lung Regional Health Center is becoming a shining example in caring for and creating a positive working environment for its medical staff. This contributes to improving the quality of medical examination, treatment, and healthcare for the people.
Bordering Bac Ninh province and close to Hanoi, the Huu Lung area has favorable conditions for transportation and socio -economic development. However, this also poses a major challenge for grassroots healthcare, as medical students, after graduation, have many job options with better income and conditions, so they are less likely to return to work in the area.

In this context, the Huu Lung Regional Health Center has maintained a stable workforce of 215 officials, staff, and workers; the satisfaction rate of healthcare workers with the center is 97.78% - the highest in the entire province. This figure is not only a survey result but also a "measure" of the effectiveness of management, operation, and care for the staff and workers.
According to Mr. Kim Ngoc Thuy, Deputy Director of the Huu Lung Regional Health Center, to retain staff, the unit has determined that it must create a working environment that truly "keeps people," from ensuring benefits and income to a positive work environment, opportunities for development, and recognition for their work. The unit always considers staff as the center of all activities. When staff are secure in their work, the quality of medical examination and treatment will improve.
That spirit is concretized by the center through practical solutions. First, training and professional development are implemented systematically and continuously. In 2025, the center will have 16 staff members participating in long-term training, and many staff members will participate in training courses to improve their skills, including 5 specialists (Level I). At the same time, the center organizes short-term training and professional development for dozens of medical staff . In the first three months of 2026, this activity will continue with 9 staff members pursuing undergraduate and postgraduate studies, and 3 staff members participating in basic diagnostic imaging and basic psychiatry training courses.
Furthermore, policies and regulations are fully implemented, openly and transparently; internal spending and welfare regulations are developed democratically, in line with practical realities, creating consensus throughout the unit. This stability is an important foundation for employees to feel secure in their long-term work.
A humane working environment is also a crucial factor in retaining medical professionals. The story of Dr. Hoang Nhu Oanh, Deputy Head of the Department of Reproductive Health and Obstetrics, is a prime example. In 2022, she suffered from a serious illness requiring long-term treatment at a central hospital. During that time, the center facilitated compensatory leave for her and arranged for staff support, regularly visiting and encouraging her to overcome her illness.
"I clearly feel the care and support from the unit. That's what helps me overcome difficulties and continue to stay committed and contribute," shared Dr. Oanh. Proof of her dedication and efforts is the many achievements she has made in her work.
From a professional perspective, Dr. Khong Tien Dung, Head of the Department of Surgery - Anesthesia - Emergency Resuscitation, stated: Building a green, clean, and beautiful working environment and improving professional quality are key factors in retaining staff. Currently, the department performs an average of 2,000 surgical and anesthesia procedures and over 9,000 emergency hemodialysis procedures annually, ensuring safety and effectiveness, and building trust among both patients and medical staff.
Based on these specialized "foundations," the medical examination and treatment activities of the Huu Lung Regional Health Center have achieved many positive results. In the first three months of 2026 alone, the center received nearly 19,400 patients, an increase of 1.2% compared to the same period in 2025.
These figures show that when medical staff are given attention, opportunities for development, and long-term commitment, the quality of medical examination and treatment will continuously improve, contributing to strengthening people's trust and affirming the sustainable direction of grassroots healthcare.
