Jellyfish are abundant in the waters of Thai Thuy. These invertebrates belong to the same family as corals, have a transparent, glass-like body, are soft and jelly-like, and contain up to 95% water. They are suitable for making many delicious dishes, but the best is jellyfish salad.

To create a high-quality finished product, the processing is very elaborate: First, fresh jellyfish brought from the sea are cleaned to remove toxins, marinated with alum salt to create a chewy and crispy texture, then cut into thin slices and blanched in boiling water. Onions are cleaned, finely sliced, blanched in boiling water, then squeezed dry and mixed with the jellyfish, shredded chicken, dried squid or beef, roasted peanuts, coconut pulp, carrots, shredded green mango, and various herbs such as lime leaves and a little mint. Next is the dressing, a very important element with a special recipe that only locals can make deliciously. It involves mixing high-quality fish sauce, sugar, lime juice, minced garlic, and chili peppers to create a rich and harmonious dressing with a balance of sweet and sour flavors. Finally, all the prepared ingredients are mixed with the dressing until the flavors are well absorbed.

When enjoying jellyfish salad, diners will experience the crispness of the jellyfish, blended with the rich flavor of fish sauce, the nutty taste of roasted peanuts, the delicate aroma of herbs, coconut pulp, shredded chicken, dried squid, and the slight sourness of green mango. All these elements combine to create a dish that stimulates the taste buds, leaving a lasting impression and captivating the palate from the very first bite. Thai Thuy jellyfish salad is a refreshing dish with its own unique characteristics, unlike any other salad, and has become an attractive culinary specialty with the flavors of the sea.
