As the Secretary of the Youth Union of Tay Son commune (Lap Thach district), Comrade Vu Thi Thanh Loan has always been energetic and enthusiastic, making many positive contributions to the Youth Union movement and the socio-economic development of the locality; becoming a shining example for Youth Union members and young people to learn from and emulate.
In educating young people on ideology and politics , and building a beautiful lifestyle, Comrade Vu Thi Thanh Loan and the Executive Committee of the Tay Son Commune Youth Union (formerly Trieu De Commune) have actively propagated the Party's directives and resolutions, the action programs of the Youth Union at all levels, and promoted the "Learning and following the thoughts, ethics, and style of Ho Chi Minh" among young people; organizing political activities to "Illuminate revolutionary ideals for the younger generation" in various forms.
The commune's Youth Union organized a competition for its members to learn about Vietnamese law and the resolutions of the Party and the Central Youth Union on the Vietnam Youth application. Political and ideological education was linked to practical application; materials and content on political theory education were posted on electronic information websites and on the fan pages of the village's Youth Union branches.
The campaigns "Building the Model Values of Vietnamese Youth in the New Era" and "One Good News Story Every Day, One Beautiful Story Every Week" have been intensified.
Taking the lead in the volunteer movement, the Secretary of the Tay Son Commune Youth Union, Vu Thi Thanh Loan, launched a campaign encouraging village youth branches to register and participate in youth-led projects in building new rural areas. Typical examples include organizing clean-up campaigns, repairing village roads and alleys; renovating and repairing playgrounds for children and teenagers; planting flowers and ornamental plants; mobilizing people to build fences and plan household gardens… At the same time, she maintained 12 self-managed youth-led roads; and improved the effectiveness of "Volunteer Saturday" and "Green Sunday" activities.
In 2024, the Youth Union of Tay Son commune simultaneously organized three environmental sanitation campaigns, clearing 5km of roads, collecting over 300kg of waste, removing advertising signs, and planting more than 1,000 trees in the commune.
To provide further support to those in difficult circumstances, Comrade Loan, together with the Executive Committee of the Tay Son Commune Youth Union, mobilized Youth Union members to donate and present 11 gift packages to poor households, families entitled to preferential policies, and children in difficult circumstances in the commune.
At the same time, they actively participated in community volunteer programs launched by the higher-level Youth Union, such as supporting children in remote areas in several provinces; supporting the Fund for the Poor; and supporting people in overcoming the consequences of natural disasters with a total amount of 35 million VND along with many other necessities.
Directly participating in the "March Border Program" in 2024 organized by the Lap Thach District Youth Union in Ta Gia Khau commune, Muong Khuong district, Lao Cai province, Comrade Loan brought her love and donated clothes, necessities, and many practical gifts to children in the highlands.
During the 2024-2025 10th grade entrance exam and the 2024 high school graduation exam, Comrade Loan initiated and launched the Youth Union's "Exam Support Hotline" model to answer candidates' questions, provide information about exam regulations, and offer pre-exam psychological counseling to students and parents.
Simultaneously, they implemented the "Grab Team 0 VND, Phone 0 VND" model to look after candidates' belongings, arrange free lunch breaks, and support candidates in need, giving gifts to candidates from disadvantaged backgrounds; they also assisted traffic police in directing traffic and ensuring traffic safety at examination sites in the district.
The volunteer models "Exam Support Hotline," "Zero-Cost Grab Team, Zero-Cost Phone," and "A Thousand Wishes, Overcoming Obstacles - Passing Exams Wherever You Take Them" have yielded positive results, demonstrating the creativity and enthusiasm of the Youth Union members of Tay Son commune and Comrade Vu Thi Thanh Loan, who was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Central Youth Union for outstanding achievements in implementing exam support in 2024.
Not only is she enthusiastic in volunteer movements, but the Secretary of the Tay Son Commune Youth Union, Vu Thi Thanh Loan, also mobilizes young people to be at the forefront of digital transformation and the application of science and technology to production and business activities; launching the digital project "Bamboo and rattan weaving village of Trieu De (formerly) commune" to promote and introduce the traditional craft village of the locality.
Simultaneously, in coordination with the commune's police force, they assisted over 2,000 children in obtaining citizen identification cards. 65% of young people in the entire commune have access to and are equipped with knowledge on enhancing digital skills through programs implemented by the Youth Union, Youth Association, and Children's Union at all levels. As a result, the percentage of young people in the commune using online public services and electronic payment accounts is increasing.
With her enthusiasm and proactive participation in volunteer movements, Vu Thi Thanh Loan, Secretary of the Tay Son Commune Youth Union, has made significant contributions to the socio-economic development of the locality, earning high praise from the Party Committee, government, and higher-level Youth Union organizations.
Thanks to her efforts in the youth movement, Comrade Loan was recently honored by the Provincial Youth Union as an exemplary young person following President Ho Chi Minh's teachings in 2025.
