Developing green industry, taking the lead in strategic capital flows, creating the foundation for building a new Phu Tho province

In the context of sustainable development becoming a global trend, Vinh Phuc province is emerging as an attractive destination for strategic investors thanks to its clear development orientation such as prioritizing green industry, being environmentally friendly and harmoniously connected with the community.

With a long-term vision, the province has gradually transformed itself strongly, building a foundation to attract high-quality capital flows, especially from investors with social and environmental responsibility. This is an important premise for Phu Tho province to develop into a leading industrial, service, logistics and tourism center of the region and the whole country after the merger.

In recent years, Vinh Phuc has continuously improved its investment environment, developed synchronous infrastructure and successfully attracted many projects with high technology content and high added value. However, the province clearly identified: environmental protection and sustainable development are not only options but also mandatory requirements in all economic development strategies.

Accordingly, the province prioritizes attracting investment projects following the ecological industrial park model, applying clean technology, reducing emissions, saving energy and resources. The planning of new industrial parks such as Thang Long Vinh Phuc, Son Loi, Song Lo I, II... all aim at the goal of "green - clean - modern", attracting special attention from Japanese, Korean and European investors.

At the same time, the province has implemented many policies to support green transformation businesses such as: encouraging investment in renewable energy, building centralized wastewater treatment systems, promoting digital transformation and developing smart factory models.

Vinh Phuc also actively cooperates internationally in building a set of criteria for evaluating green industrial parks, aiming to meet the standards of ecological industrial parks according to the regulations of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment . At the same time, the province proactively proposes long-term policies, promotes administrative reform, digital transformation, and creates maximum convenience for businesses in procedures related to land, investment, construction, fire prevention and fighting, etc.

Infrastructure enterprises also actively participated, prepared financial resources to support site clearance, coordinated with departments and branches to complete legal procedures, and welcomed the new wave of FDI.

A typical highlight is Thang Long Vinh Phuc Industrial Park - the first model industrial park of the province invested by Sumitomo Corporation (Japan), with a scale of 213 hectares. The project has completed 2 phases, attracting 41 investment projects, of which 29 projects have come into operation, mainly from Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Vietnam.

According to Mr. Kenta Kawanabe, General Director of Thang Long Vinh Phuc Industrial Park Co., Ltd., from the beginning, the industrial park has been oriented towards environmentally friendly development, attracting high-tech projects.

Sumitomo Group dedicates 20% of the area to trees and water surfaces, investing in 5 standard factories (each factory is 2,000 m²) serving high-tech enterprises such as TOTO, Daiwa, Tsuchiya... In addition, the industrial park arranges 26 commercial service rooms, building a closed ecosystem favorable for production and business activities.

In fact, in the first 6 months of 2025, Vinh Phuc attracted 410 million USD of FDI capital and nearly 4,500 billion VND of DDI capital, an increase of 28% over the same period, exceeding the set target by 50%. Many projects in the high-tech and electronics sectors are committed to strictly complying with environmental standards.

With a clear development orientation, drastic actions and the support of the business community, Vinh Phuc is realizing the goal of building a green, modern and sustainable industry.
