On December 5th, Citi Bank announced the appointment of Ms. Ngo Thi Hong Minh as General Manager of Citibank NA, Ho Chi Minh City branch, and overall overseeing Citi's operations in Vietnam.
Ms. Minh is the first Vietnamese person to hold the position of CEO since the bank began operating in Vietnam more than 30 years ago.
In her new role, Ms. Minh will be Citi's top representative, leading and unifying all of the bank's business operations in Vietnam.

Ms. Ngo Thi Hong Minh
Ms. Ngo Thi Hong Minh has nearly 25 years of experience in the finance industry. She joined Citi in early 2024, overseeing equity and markets business.
According to this institution, the appointment of Ms. Ngo Thi Hong Minh further affirms the bank's long-term commitment to Vietnam, while also highlighting the increasing importance of the Vietnamese market within the bank's Asia South market cluster.
Citi is one of the oldest banks in the US, with a presence in over 180 countries. In early 2023, Citi completed the divestment of its retail banking operations in four Southeast Asian markets (Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand, and Indonesia) to UOB Bank (headquartered in Singapore). In Vietnam, the bank currently focuses on corporate clients.
