A person who brings the spirit of the countryside to the city.

Born in Hoac Chau village, Co Do commune, Pham Thi Tu Hau grew up surrounded by the aroma of corn, potatoes, and cassava... But these simple, familiar agricultural products often fell into the vicious cycle of "bumper harvest - low prices," leaving many lingering regrets in Hau's childhood memories.

Growing up, Ms. Hau became a pharmacist, opening a small pharmacy near her home. She thought life would continue peacefully, but deep down, her concern for the agricultural products of her hometown remained. "If only I could do something to alleviate the losses for our people," she thought, growing stronger and becoming the motivation for her to boldly discuss starting a business with her husband. With his support, she went to learn about farming techniques in various regions. Initially, her experiments failed, but she patiently tried again, gradually perfecting the formula, process, and packaging. Eventually, her safe agricultural product processing facility was established.

Then, from potatoes and cassava... through her hands and mind, that woman "magically" created dozens of products: cassava cakes with coconut milk, cassava cakes with cheese, cassava cakes with meat and wood ear mushroom filling, cassava cakes with mung bean and coconut filling, cassava flour for making sweet soups... All are quality-tested, contain no preservatives, are deep-frozen, and transported everywhere.

When the OCOP program spread to the former Ba Vi district, Ms. Hau immediately submitted her products. Three products – sweet potato fritters, crispy fried corn, and cassava cake with coconut milk – which she researched and created herself using local ingredients, received 3-star OCOP certification. As a result, her brand gained widespread recognition, and sales increased significantly.

Not stopping there, Ms. Pham Thi Tu Hau's "Enough Cassava from Ba Vi" project was recognized by the Hanoi City Women's Union as an Innovative Product of 2023. The cheese-filled cassava cake has transcended the village boundaries, reaching urban areas and even some "demanding" markets, with a stable volume of orders...

With her quick wit and resourcefulness, even while running a small business, she managed to expand her market by bringing her products to e-commerce platforms and social media. Recognizing the trend of collective economic development , over a year ago, she transformed into the Yen Anh Agricultural Production and Processing Cooperative, which currently has 7 members. The cooperative provides employment for several dozen workers with stable incomes of 5-7 million VND per person per month, and consumes tens of tons of products from corn, potatoes, cassava, etc., each month.

"Going far away to return," Ms. Hau said radiantly. She returned to cherish the cassava and sweet potatoes of her homeland; to give Ba Vi's agricultural products the opportunity to carry the fragrant bounty of her hometown to all corners of the world.
