Vietnam table tennis team exchanges with Russian athletes, preparing for SEA Games 33

(Dan Tri) - On December 4 in Hanoi, the Vietnamese table tennis team trained and interacted with athletes from Russia to practice and improve their skills before competing at the 33rd SEA Games.

The international friendly match with Russian athletes was held at the People's Public Security Sports Training and Competition Center (Hanoi). Russian athletes, who possess high technical skills and tactical playing style, brought valuable challenges and experiences to the Vietnamese table tennis team.

Participating in this training session were familiar faces of Vietnamese table tennis such as: Dinh Anh Hoang, Tran Mai Ngoc (mixed doubles champion pair of SEA Games 32), Nguyen Duc Tuan, men's singles champion of SEA Games 31, Mai Hoang My Trang, Vietnamese table tennis legend and leader of the team at this SEA Games.

Along with that, the duo Nguyen Khoa Dieu Khanh (left) and Le Dinh Duc (right) are also expected to cause a big surprise at SEA Games 33.

In particular, the presence of tennis player Dinh Anh Hoang is expected to "bring gold" to Vietnamese sports. With many outstanding achievements, the tennis player born in 2001 won the men's singles championship at the 2025 National Excellent Tennis Player and 3 gold medals at the 2025 National Strong Team Championship (men's team, men's doubles, mixed doubles).

The friendly match with Russian athletes is considered a perfect warm-up step, providing valuable experience and helping the players achieve their best form before leaving for the regional sports festival.

Although it was just a friendly match, the professional quality and expertise were clearly demonstrated by the Vietnamese and Russian athletes through the close matches.

Russian athletes are famous for their fast ball speed and variation in serves, forcing Vietnamese athletes to improve their reflexes and ability to handle situations under high pressure.

Dinh Anh Hoang was radiant after his convincing victory over the Russian athlete.

The 33rd SEA Games will take place from December 9 to December 20 in Thailand, with three main locations: Bangkok, Chonburi and Songkhla.

The Vietnamese table tennis team is carrying great expectations from fans and experts, determined to transform their training efforts into a prestigious gold medal at the upcoming 33rd SEA Games.
