
An international friendly match with Russian athletes was held at the People's Police Sports Training and Competition Center (Hanoi). The Russian athletes, known for their high level of technique and tactical play, provided valuable challenges and experiences for the Vietnamese table tennis team.

Participating in this training session were familiar faces of Vietnamese table tennis such as: Dinh Anh Hoang, Tran Mai Ngoc (the mixed doubles champions of SEA Games 32), Nguyen Duc Tuan, the men's singles champion of SEA Games 31, Mai Hoang My Trang, a Vietnamese table tennis legend and the leading figure of the team at this SEA Games.

In addition, the duo Nguyen Khoa Dieu Khanh (left) and Le Dinh Duc (right) are also expected to spring a big surprise at the SEA Games 33.

In particular, the presence of tennis player Dinh Anh Hoang is expected to "bring gold" back to Vietnamese sports. With many outstanding achievements, the player born in 2001 has won the men's singles championship at the 2025 National Outstanding Tennis Player Tournament and 3 gold medals at the 2025 National Strong Team Tournament (men's team, men's doubles, mixed doubles).
