Nestled at the foot of the Ta Pa and Co To mountains, the nearly 1,200-hectare field appears like a shimmering golden valley, attracting tourists and photographers alike to admire its beauty.

From the small path leading into the village to the panoramic view of the valley, Ta Pa offers an indescribable sense of peace. Endless rice paddies embrace the foothills, creating a vibrant tapestry of colors as the ripening rice blends with the late-year sunlight.

Viewed from above, the entire field resembles a multicolored carpet: the vibrant yellow of ripening rice, the lush green of fields in their youth, and the deep brown of areas where the harvest is complete.

Interspersed among them are towering palm trees – a symbol of the Bay Nui region – along with the shade of melaleuca and eucalyptus trees, adding a unique touch to the rural landscape.

The best time to admire Ta Pa is at sunrise or sunset. In the early morning, the gentle sunlight filters through the palm trees, making the rice fields sparkle. The scent of ripening rice mingles with the mountain breeze, allowing visitors to clearly feel the freshness and purity of the southwestern Mekong Delta's waterways.

In the afternoon, the sun bathes the entire field in a deep orange hue, the gentle curves of the terraced rice paddies appearing soft and creating a romantic scene perfect for photography.

Besides its unique landscapes, Tri Ton also attracts tourists with the rich cultural life of the long-standing Khmer community. The gentle nature, friendly smiles, and hospitality of the local people make the journey even more heartwarming.

Many tourists say they enjoy stopping at small roadside shops to chat, listen to locals tell stories about the harvest season, festivals, and daily life in the Bay Nui region.

Near the rice fields is Ta Pa Pagoda – a famous Khmer pagoda situated on a high hill. From the pagoda's courtyard, visitors can easily take in the panoramic view of the golden valley below. The space here is quiet and airy, perfect for resting, breathing in the fresh air, and admiring the horizon bathed in the golden sunlight of the setting sun. Many say that just standing at the pagoda for a few minutes is enough to fully appreciate the beauty of Ta Pa during the golden season. Photo by photographer Chau Quang Dien.

The journey to Tri Ton is not too difficult; the road to the rice fields is quite easy to navigate, suitable for both families and groups of young people. Visitors should choose days with mild sunshine, bring hats, water, and comfortable clothing for easy movement between the rice paddies. The rice harvest season in Ta Pa usually takes place from the end of November to the beginning of December; the time is not long, but it's enough to make many people want to return to admire the golden season once more.
