The training course contributes to preserving and spreading the unique cultural values of the Tay and Nung ethnic groups in Vo Nhai commune.
According to Ms. Tran Thi Huong Ly, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Vo Nhai commune, Vo Nhai commune, Thai Nguyen province, was established by merging the entire area and population of Dinh Ca town, Phu Thuong commune, and Lau Thuong commune after the implementation of the two-tiered government system. Vo Nhai is home to various ethnic groups including Tay, Nung, Dao, Mong, Cao Lan, and Kinh... among which the Tay and Nung ethnic groups account for a high percentage and still preserve many traditional cultural features such as language, clothing, folk songs, and folk dances, including Then melodies and traditional dances that reflect the unique cultural identity of these ethnic groups.

The trainees were directly taught by artisan Ho Thi Hoa.
Furthermore, Vo Nhai is known as a highland commune with suitable terrain, possessing many pristine and attractive scenic spots, along with a system of valuable historical and cultural relics, and ideal weather conditions favorable for developing agricultural tourism combined with eco-tourism and community tourism. A highlight is that Vo Nhai has many famous destinations such as Phuong Hoang Cave and Mo Ga Stream, a unique tourist complex that creates unforgettable experiences for visitors.
In Vo Nhai, tourists can explore famous landmarks and learn about the unique culture of the Tay and Nung ethnic groups. Among them, the Then ritual practice of the Tay, Nung, and Thai people in Vietnam has been inscribed by UNESCO on the list of Representative Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. This is a great honor and source of pride not only for the Tay and Nung people in Thai Nguyen but also for the localities that share this heritage.

The trainees were directly taught by artisan Nong Dinh Long.
In recent times, the preservation and promotion of Then singing and Tinh playing have received special attention from the Thai Nguyen Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Vo Nhai commune, and the community. This has contributed to preserving the precious cultural identity of the nation as well as contributing to socio-economic development and tourism development in the locality.
However, in the face of the challenges of increasingly deep integration, the preservation, transmission, and promotion of the intangible cultural values of the Tay and Nung ethnic groups in Vo Nhai are facing many difficulties, requiring the joint efforts of all levels and sectors, especially the active participation of the community, to avoid the risk of fading away and to ensure their preservation and promotion.

The trainees received direct instruction from People's Artist Hoang Thi Bich Hong, Head of the Then Singing and Dan Tinh Playing Club of Thai Nguyen province.
From December 3rd to 5th, the Department of Ethnic Cultures of Vietnam, in coordination with the Thai Nguyen Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the People's Committee of Vo Nhai commune, organized a training course on teaching and demonstrating the model of preserving and promoting the intangible cultural values of folk songs and dances of the Tay and Nung ethnic groups in Vo Nhai commune. This aims to effectively implement Project 6, linking conservation with the development of cultural and ecological tourism, gradually forming a distinctive cultural tourism product for Vo Nhai commune in particular and the Viet Bac region in general, contributing to improving the spiritual life and creating sustainable livelihoods for the people.
The training course was attended by 50 participants, including artisans who teach traditional culture and key figures in the folk arts of the Tay and Nung ethnic groups living in Vo Nhai commune.
