
The training course contributes to preserving and spreading the unique cultural values of the Tay and Nung ethnic groups in Vo Nhai commune.
Ms. Tran Thi Huong Ly, Vice Chairwoman of Vo Nhai Commune People's Committee, said that Vo Nhai Commune, Thai Nguyen Province was established on the basis of merging the entire area and population of Dinh Ca Town, Phu Thuong Commune and Lau Thuong Commune after implementing the two-level government. Vo Nhai is home to the Tay, Nung, Dao, Mong, Cao Lan, Kinh ethnic groups... in which the Tay and Nung ethnic groups account for a high proportion, and still preserve and maintain many traditional cultural features such as language, costumes, folk songs, folk dances with Then melodies, traditional dances imbued with national cultural identity.

In addition, Vo Nhai is known as a highland commune with suitable terrain conditions, possessing many wild and attractive landscapes, along with a system of valuable historical and cultural relics, ideal weather favorable for developing agricultural tourism associated with ecological and community tourism. Notably, in Vo Nhai area, there are many famous destinations such as Phuong Hoang Cave - Suoi Mo Ga, a special tourist complex, creating highlights for visitors with unforgettable experiences.
Coming to Vo Nhai, visitors can explore famous landmarks and learn about the unique culture of the Tay and Nung ethnic groups. In particular, the Then practice heritage of the Tay, Nung and Thai people in Vietnam has been listed by UNESCO as a representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity. This is an honor and pride not only for the Tay and Nung ethnic groups in Thai Nguyen but also for the localities that co-own the heritage.

In recent times, the preservation and promotion of the heritage of Then singing and Tinh lute has received special attention from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Thai Nguyen, Vo Nhai commune and the community, thereby contributing to preserving the precious cultural identity of the nation as well as contributing to the socio-economic development and tourism development in the locality.
However, facing the challenge of increasingly deep integration, the preservation, transmission and promotion of intangible cultural values of the Tay and Nung ethnic groups in Vo Nhai are facing many difficulties, requiring the cooperation of all levels and sectors, especially the active participation of the community to avoid the risk of extinction, which needs to be preserved and promoted.

Students were directly taught by People's Artist Hoang Thi Bich Hong, Head of the Then Hat and Tinh Lute Club of Thai Nguyen province.
From December 3 to 5, the Department of Culture of Vietnam's Ethnic Groups coordinated with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Thai Nguyen and the People's Committee of Vo Nhai commune to organize training, teaching and demonstration of the model of preserving and promoting the intangible cultural values of folk songs and dances of the Tay and Nung ethnic groups in Vo Nhai commune, aiming to effectively implement Project 6, linking conservation work with the development of cultural and ecological tourism, gradually forming a cultural tourism product typical of Vo Nhai commune in particular and the Viet Bac region in general, contributing to improving the spiritual life and creating sustainable livelihoods for the people.
The training course was attended by 50 trainees who are traditional culture artisans and the core of mass arts of the Tay and Nung ethnic groups living in Vo Nhai commune.


The training course is an activity to effectively implement Project 6 in Thai Nguyen province.
The organizers said that the training course is an opportunity for students, artisans, and mass art cores to access new methods and skills in building a model to preserve, restore, and promote intangible cultural heritage in general, and folk songs and dances of the Tay and Nung ethnic groups in particular.
Through the training course, Vo Nhai commune has gradually built a suitable model of folk cultural activities, contributing to preserving and promoting the unique values of folk songs and dances of the Tay and Nung ethnic groups, gradually creating attractive products to attract tourists to Vo Nhai.
On this occasion, the Department of Culture of Vietnam's Ethnic Groups will organize the recording, storage and transfer of documentary films of the training process to serve the propaganda work, long-term preservation, contributing to spreading the unique cultural values of the Tay and Nung ethnic groups in the ethnic communities of Thai Nguyen province in particular and the Northeast region in general.
