Hanoi is the locality with the densest heritage density in the country, with 6,489 historical and cultural relics and 1,793 inventoried intangible cultural heritages.

Of these, there are 6 tangible and intangible heritages recognized by UNESCO, 22 special national relics and relic clusters, 1,165 national relics, 1,600 city-level relics, and 59 heritages listed in the national list of intangible culture.

In addition, there are 351 national treasures, 23 non-public museums, 131 artisans awarded the State honorary titles of "People's Artisan" and "Meritorious Artisan" by the President ... in the field of intangible culture and 1,350 traditional craft villages...

Speaking at the conference, Ms. Bach Lien Huong, Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, said that from July 1, 2025, the Law on Cultural Heritage No. 45/2024/QH13 has officially come into effect, with many new points.

For the first time, the content of heritage impact assessment has been legalized, linked to the responsibilities of state management agencies and obligations of entities related to relics and world heritages, along with many regulations on relics being revised and supplemented.

“At the conference, scientists and managers shared and exchanged experiences and knowledge in the management and conservation of relics, grasped new regulations of the 2024 Law on Cultural Heritage along with documents implementing the Law, directly related to the management of historical and cultural relics.

Thereby, helping managers of relics, intangible cultural heritages, local officials, and units that restore and embellish relics in the city not only master theory and knowledge, but also be able to apply it immediately to practical work," the Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports emphasized.

At the conference, Deputy Director of the Department of Cultural Heritage (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) Tran Dinh Thanh and managers shared new points of the Law on Cultural Heritage and related legal documents. At the same time, they discussed issues related to vivid practices in provinces and cities across the country, as well as historical and cultural relics of Hanoi city.
