Bremen business delegation (Germany) visited and worked at VIMC, opening up many new cooperation opportunities

On the afternoon of December 4, Vietnam National Shipping Lines (VIMC) welcomed a business delegation from Bremen, the Federal Republic of Germany, led by Mr. Kolja Umland, Project Manager for Vietnam & ASEAN, WFB – Bremeninvest, to visit and explore cooperation opportunities.

At the meeting, VIMC General Director Le Anh Son gave an overview of the formation and development process, seaport network, fleet, logistics services and development strategy of VIMC in the coming period. The General Director emphasized that VIMC is aiming to develop a modern and synchronous logistics and seaport ecosystem, associated with the trend of digitalization, greening the supply chain and deep integration with the international maritime transport network.

Appreciating the level and long-term experience of Bremen State in the fields of industry, logistics and seaports, Mr. Le Anh Son expressed his wish that Bremen State would share its experience in training and attracting high-quality human resources, as well as in planning, constructing and operating deep-water seaports capable of receiving large tonnage ships. These are the areas that VIMC is prioritizing to enhance its competitiveness and role in the region.

Members of the Bremen Business Delegation were impressed by the scale of operations, exploitation capacity and development potential of VIMC in the maritime and logistics supply chain in Vietnam and the region. The delegation highly appreciated the development orientations of seaports and logistics, as well as VIMC's proactive international integration, and expressed their desire to promote cooperation in areas where Bremen state enterprises have strengths and VIMC is interested, such as: construction and operation of seaports, development of logistics services, port management solutions and supply chains.

The two sides also discussed investment cooperation opportunities, management experience sharing, technology transfer, partner network connection and human resource development, aiming to build specific cooperation models in the coming time. Representatives of the Bremen Business Delegation believe that after the working session at VIMC, the two sides will have more opportunities for practical and effective cooperation and investment in the discussed fields, contributing to strengthening the economic and trade cooperation between Vietnam and the Federal Republic of Germany.
