According to the Chairman of the Board of Directors, current forms of cyber attacks are increasingly sophisticated, especially when high-tech criminals use artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning to automate and replicate attack variants at an exponential rate.
As a pillar bank, Agribank processes tens of millions of transactions every day, serving tens of millions of customers, so network security has become a prerequisite to ensure stable operations and sustainable development. The program in coordination with the Department of Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention has strategic significance in helping Agribank improve its defense capacity, moving from a passive position to a proactive one of forecasting and prevention.
“Agribank always considers cyber security a strategic priority, along with digital transformation and innovation. According to Lieutenant Colonel Trieu Manh Tung, the Department of Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention is the specialized unit in implementing cyber security programs nationwide, so it always attaches importance to coordinating with key organizations and businesses, including banks. "Through today's coordination program, it will be the basis for Agribank to improve its ability to detect, warn early and find effective solutions as soon as there are signs of attack" - Lieutenant Colonel Trieu Manh Tung affirmed.
The representative of the Department of Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention assessed that today's signing ceremony clearly demonstrated Agribank's initiative and determination in preventing and combating cybercrime, while opening up an important foundation for the two sides to coordinate more deeply and comprehensively in the coming time.

Agribank proactively invests in network security, upgrading digital system standards
In cooperation with the Department of Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention, Agribank has invested heavily in technology infrastructure and network security over the years; synchronously deploying layers of system security, application security, monitoring, incident response, risk management and compliance. Currently, 95% of transactions across the system are conducted via digital channels; 47% of customers regularly use digital services. Agribank's data centers are all ISO 27001:2022 certified.
In 2024, Agribank and the Center for Research and Application of Population Data and Citizen Identification - Ministry of Public Security will organize a Contract Signing Ceremony to deploy electronic authentication services via VNeID on Agribank Plus, contributing to promoting the close relationship between the two parties, while demonstrating that Agribank is one of the pioneering and proactive banks in deploying and promoting the application of the National Population Database in banking activities, contributing to promoting digital transformation activities in the banking industry according to the policies and orientations of the Prime Minister and the State Bank.

In addition, Agribank officially became a member of the National Cyber Security Association (NCA) after fully meeting the strict requirements on capacity and security standards. Joining NCA is also an opportunity for Agribank to access the most advanced cybersecurity standards and processes today, improving the capacity and efficiency of the solutions and services that Agribank provides.
Agribank is a participating unit and won First Prize in the 2024 National Cyber Security Exercise organized for the first time by the Ministry of Public Security in coordination with the National Cyber Security Association with the theme: "Responding to and overcoming APT attacks on important information systems related to national security".
The cooperation between Agribank and the Department of Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention and Control is considered an important step forward in the effort to strengthen the cybersecurity of the Vietnamese banking system. Through the cooperation program, Agribank will enhance the ability to protect key information technology systems; proactively prevent, detect, and handle crimes and violations of the law using high technology; and at the same time, improve the effectiveness of coordination between the two agencies in protecting the security and safety of banking operations.
