VietinBank pioneers in providing modern payment solutions for public transport

VietinBank accompanies Hanoi Metro to deploy a biometric identification and authentication system and provide cashless payment solutions for people traveling on the Cat Linh - Ha Dong urban railway line.

On the morning of December 5, 2025, at the announcement ceremony of the results of Plan 428, Hanoi Metro officially announced the implementation of identification - biometric authentication and cashless payment solutions for metro passengers. Specifically, all passengers using Line 2A Cat Linh - Ha Dong will move through automatic ticket gates with identification technology, electronic authentication, biometric identification and cashless payment.

VietinBank – connecting finance & mobility

VietinBank cooperated with Hanoi Metro to integrate a cashless payment system, allowing passengers to swipe their bank cards to pass through the ticket gate.

Thanks to this, train passengers do not need to carry cash, paper tickets or separate magnetic cards - they just need to swipe their VietinBank Visa card to get on the train immediately. This solution is especially useful for office workers, students and even the elderly who want to use the metro every day.
