Happy Vietnam Day: Spreading the message "Happiness from simple things" to the public

On December 6, at Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square (Hanoi), the opening ceremony of "Vietnam Happy Fest 2025" took place, with a series of diverse, creative and meaningful activities.

The event was chaired by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in coordination with the Hanoi People's Committee, Vietnam Television and the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the festival, Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Hai Binh said: 2025 marks a proud milestone when Vietnam rose to 46th place globally in the World Happiness Report, up 8 places compared to the previous year. This is not only a statistical number, but also a recognition of the Party and State's persistent efforts in creating a peaceful and humane living environment and, above all, the optimistic and benevolent spirit of the Vietnamese people; at the same time, it vividly reflects the aspirations and solidarity of millions of Vietnamese people towards a prosperous, prosperous and loving future.

Continuing that pride, the 3rd Happy Vietnam Awards, held on the national image promotion platform Vietnam.vn, continued to reap many successes. In 2025, the contest attracted more than 4,600 authors with more than 17,000 photo and video works, 1.7 times higher than in 2024. Each work is a touching story, a true slice of the Vietnamese people, of the peaceful life and the beauty that is changing every day of the country, told through the respectful perspective of the people themselves and international friends.

2025 is also a year of many important national events, especially the 50th Anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) and the 80th Anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025). In that context, the works participating in the award are like "prisms of happiness", many pieces that create a giant S-shaped picture. A peaceful, beautiful and developed Vietnam gradually appears with white salt fields, golden rice fields, pink colors covering the mountains and forests of the Northwest, the hustle and bustle of modern cities, or the heroic and calm moments of the heroic Vietnamese people.

Also according to Permanent Deputy Minister Le Hai Binh, Happy Vietnam is not just a contest. It has become a festival of national pride, a festival of happiness. Happiness is not far away, happiness exists in every house, on every street, in every remote village. We find happiness in the clear eyes of children, the gentle smile of grandmothers, somewhere happiness is a tight handshake, a strong step on the march of soldiers who are day and night protecting the Fatherland. It is the people who create happiness, who inspire and tell the story of that happiness through their own lives. For the Vietnamese people, happiness is always built on simple things: a warm meal, a bountiful harvest, a hand of sharing in times of trouble. It is these small values ​​that have contributed to creating the country's lasting strength for many generations.

Vietnam Happy Fest 2025 is not only a festival of today but also a premise for Vietnam to move towards building an annual "Vietnam Happy Day". A special day to remind that: Vietnamese happiness is built from peace, from love for humanity, from the will to overcome difficulties and solidarity, from the simple things that make up the Vietnamese cultural identity. This is also an affirmation that Vietnam is not only a destination of beautiful scenery, but also a destination of humanity, of peace, of faith in a bright future.

Vietnam Happy Fest 2025 is held along the streets of Le Thai To - Hang Khay - Dinh Tien Hoang - Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square, where each step will take participants through 13 experience points - such as 13 emotional rhythms: Vietnam Happy Exhibition; Digital interactive space; Photobooth and art exhibition areas; Happy Tree - where wishes are sent; Happiness prism, Happiness map; Sending happiness to tomorrow; Outdoor activities "Health is happiness"; HAPPINESS announcer; All combine into a big flow, telling the story: Happiness is present in every small moment of Vietnamese life.

At the Ly Thai To Monument area, the "Happiness Tree" will receive wishes, gratitude, and sharing from everyone. Each piece of paper hung up is like a seed of kindness, from which happiness is multiplied, spread, and touches the hearts of strangers. At the happiness tree, the organizers give away 80,000 souvenirs to the people and tourists.

In addition, at the Festival, there are also many experiential activities such as: Vietnamese costume parade "Bach hoa bi hanh" (December 7), about 800 people in traditional costumes will walk through Hanoi's Old Quarter, as if carrying a thousand years of history shining in the modern era - setting a record for the number of people wearing Vietnamese costumes to parade; Workshop "Prism of Happiness" (December 6-7), art lovers have the opportunity to listen to experts, practice photography, and find in each frame the beauty of ordinary life. All will create together, spread the beauty of visual arts and send the message "Happy Vietnam" to the community, towards the photo and video contest on human rights Happy Vietnam 2026;

Happy Vietnam 2025 Awards Ceremony (December 6), broadcast live on VTV4, honoring the most inspiring photos and videos about Vietnamese happiness; "Happy Vietnam" Music Night (December 7), an emotional ending with the participation of many young artists (singer Bui Cong Nam, singer Lam Bao Ngoc,...), open free of charge to residents and tourists.

The festival attracted a large audience.

A special activity of the Festival is the Mass Wedding Ceremony of 80 couples - "Love is happiness". The joy of 80 couples today symbolizes 80 years of Independence - Freedom - Happiness of the nation. Among them, there are young couples entering a new life, and there are couples who have been together for 15, 30, 50 years. They are the vivid images showing that happiness is not a miracle, but understanding and sharing every day.

With the success of Happy Fest, Vietnam hopes to move towards organizing the annual "Vietnam Happy Day" - a new cultural mark, making Vietnam a destination of peace and humanity in the eyes of international friends../.
