Ms. Sa Thi Hang in Doan Ket residential group, Au Lau ward is near poor, has no stable job, and her husband died early. Due to her circumstances, she has to shoulder the burden of raising another grandchild. Therefore, the family's life is always lacking, with difficulties piling up on difficulties. Faced with that reality, with the motto "giving a fishing rod, not a fish", the Women's Union of Au Lau ward has supported chicken breeds for Ms. Hang to develop livestock farming, create a long-term livelihood, and improve her income.

Over the past years, joining hands for the goal of sustainable multidimensional poverty reduction, the Women's Union of Au Lau Ward has coordinated with departments and branches to organize many activities to support the enhancement of women's economic power.
In particular, the Association actively coordinates to organize many training courses to improve knowledge of animal husbandry, cultivation, and exchange experiences in economic development for female members. Coordinates to propagate, provide information, and advise to help women promote initiative and creativity, improve qualifications and capacity, and apply information technology in production and business development to meet the requirements of international integration. Coordinates to implement programs of loan entrustment, support for plants and breeds, and grant savings books...
In the period of 2021 - 2025, the Women's Union of Au Lau Ward has supported 25 savings books, each book from 2 - 5 million VND for poor women members in difficult circumstances. Coordinated with the Social Policy Bank to effectively implement loan entrustment activities, with a total outstanding loan balance of more than 40 billion VND, helping nearly 2,000 households access capital for economic development, construction of clean water works, environmental sanitation...
Activities to support women's economic empowerment have contributed to Au Lau ward's successful implementation of poverty reduction work in the 2021 - 2025 period. The ward's poverty reduction rate has decreased by an average of 3% per year. Up to now, the poverty rate in Au Lau ward is only 0.05%.
Like Au Lau ward, to help women members rise up to escape multidimensional poverty sustainably, the Women's Union of Van Phu ward has implemented many practical activities. The Union has mobilized the establishment of 22 cooperative groups on livestock breeding, trading in essential goods, hair cutting and shampooing, and tailoring services. Mobilized women members to support funds to join hands to help poor women members eliminate temporary housing, including supporting 3 savings books with an amount of 12 million VND. Coordinated with the Social Policy Bank to create conditions for members, poor, near-poor, and escaped-poverty households to borrow capital to create jobs, develop the economy, and national target programs on clean water and environmental sanitation, and students with a total amount of 53 billion VND.
Practical approaches at the grassroots level have contributed to the outstanding results of the women's movement joining hands for the goal of sustainable multidimensional poverty reduction in the whole province in recent times. From 2021 to now, the Lao Cai Provincial Women's Union has supported 307 economic development models with a total budget of more than 1.4 billion VND; the Union at all levels has helped 2,760 households escape poverty and near-poverty; coordinated vocational training and job creation for nearly 10,000 members. Thereby, contributing to improving the lives and increasing incomes for people in difficult areas while affirming the role of women in the journey of joining hands to reduce multidimensional and sustainable poverty in the province.

Women's Unions at all levels in the province regularly go deep into and closely follow the situation at the grassroots level to promptly support and encourage families and members in difficult circumstances.
