Nghe An: Highlights of May 28th

The Provincial People's Committee held its regular May meeting; Nghe An province deployed the task of conducting combat drills at the commune and ward levels within the defense zone in 2026; Over 2,000 candidates competed for admission to Phan Boi Chau Specialized High School; The second transformer at the Nam Cam 220kV Substation was successfully energized... These are some of the highlights of the day.

* On the morning of May 28th, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly held a meeting of the National People's Councils to implement the directions and tasks for the 2026-2031 term. National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man presided over the meeting. Attending the meeting via video link were leaders of Nghe An province, including: Hoang Nghia Hieu - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; and members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee: Duong Dinh Chinh - Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; and Nguyen Van De - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

* On the morning of May 28th, the Provincial People's Committee held its regular monthly meeting for May 2026, chaired by Mr. Vo Trong Hai, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee. The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested decisive implementation of growth targets, disbursement of public investment capital, and adjustment of the provincial planning.

* On the morning of May 28th, under the chairmanship of Ms. Vo Thi Minh Sinh - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province held its regular monthly meeting for May, listening to and giving opinions on 8 key issues.

* On the afternoon of May 28th, the Organizing Committee for the commune/ward combat exercise in the provincial defense zone held a conference to deploy tasks for the 2026 commune/ward combat exercise in the provincial defense zone. Comrade Bui Thanh An - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - chaired the conference.

* Nghe An: Over 2,000 candidates compete for admission to Phan Boi Chau Specialized High School. This exam brings together the most outstanding students in Nghe An province to compete for places in 15 specialized classes for the 2026-2027 school year. This year, due to the increased number of candidates but the quota remaining at 35 students per class, admission is even more difficult.

* On May 28th, the National Power Transmission Corporation and related units successfully energized the second transformer at the Nam Cam 220kV Substation, increasing the total substation capacity to 500MVA, contributing to strengthening the assurance of safe and stable electricity supply for Nghe An and the northern region during the peak of the hot season.

* The People's Committee of Vinh Phu ward has just requested the competent authority to inspect and handle violations related to the delayed progress and review the capacity of Cua Lo Beach Golf Joint Stock Company after many years of the complex sports and ecological urban area project being almost "stalled".
