On the morning of December 6, Hoan Kiem Lake walking street ( Hanoi ) was filled with the colors of happiness when 80 couples of brides and grooms held hands and walked into the event "Wedding of 80 couples: Couple day - Love is happiness".

This is an impressive opening activity for the Happy Vietnam Festival, lasting from December 5 to 7 at Hoan Kiem Lake walking street, carrying a profound message about family values and strong bonds between generations.
The program is chaired by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MOCST), in coordination with the Hanoi People's Committee.

Attending the opening ceremony of the festival were Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Ha Thi Nga, Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Hai Binh, former Deputy Ministers of Culture, Sports and Tourism: Dang Thi Bich Lien, Le Tien Tho... Also attending were representatives of leaders of ministries, departments, branches, local socio-political organizations, international organizations, embassies in Vietnam...

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Hai Binh said that 2025 marks a proud milestone when Vietnam rose to 46th place globally in the World Happiness Report, up 8 places compared to the previous year.
“This is not just a statistic, but also a recognition of the Party and State's persistent efforts in creating a peaceful and humane living environment, and above all, the optimistic and benevolent spirit of the Vietnamese people; at the same time, it vividly reflects the aspirations and solidarity of millions of Vietnamese people towards a prosperous, prosperous and loving future,” Permanent Deputy Minister Le Hai Binh emphasized.

As the "master of ceremonies", People's Artist Xuan Bac, Director of the Department of Performing Arts, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, stirred up the atmosphere with humor and charm.
People's Artist Xuan Bac not only hosted the ceremony but also created moments of explosive emotions when he asked the couples to "kiss many times", instead of just one kiss as originally planned. Laughter and cheers filled the square, mixed with tears of happiness.

The 80 couples attending the event ranged in age from young couples about to get married to those with “diamond weddings” who have been together for half a century. Each story is a separate journey, but all gathered here to affirm the value of love and marriage.

Among the 80 stories told, there are journeys that move viewers. Typical examples are the couple Nguyen Van Cua and Nguyen Thi Hoa.
Eight years ago, Mr. Cua had an accident and had to use a wheelchair, but love and tolerance helped them overcome all difficulties, proving the saying: "Happiness is the effort of both people".

The couple Bui Van Quyet (32 years old) and Vu Thanh Tam (33 years old), after many separations and reunions, have been together for 14 years, experiencing many challenges in life.
They share the principle of "not letting a conflict last more than three days" and always respect and share in love.

Ms. Tran Thi Tuyet Lan and Mr. Hoang Trung Dung have been together for 35 years, sharing that the secret to maintaining happiness is trust and understanding. Mr. Dung often works far away, but their love remains intact thanks to his wife's perseverance and tolerance.

Having met by chance through a mutual friend, Nguyen Thi Huong Giang and Le Chi Minh Hoang (both 27 years old) make many people interested in their love story.
Both born in February, "compatible like two opposite versions" and plan to have a warm wedding on April 1, 2026.

Mr. Nguyen Vu Hoi (63 years old) and Mrs. Vu Thi Trang (62 years old) bring a story that is both humorous and touching. As a former manager and subordinate in the army, they have been together for more than 40 years, overcoming all challenges together, even when Mr. Hoi became a disabled veteran.

The event also featured three representative families. One family had two generations participating: The parents "rekindled" their love with a wedding to celebrate more than 30 years of marriage, while the children were preparing to enter the wedding ceremony later this year.

The image of 80 brides and grooms in formal attire, appearing together, not only created a brilliant scene but also marked a meaningful milestone of lasting happiness.

The Happy Vietnam Festival not only attracts the capital’s residents but also welcomes a large number of international visitors. During the three-day festival, Hoan Kiem Lake walking street becomes a space filled with positive energy, where everyone experiences and shares joy.

The ceremony ended with the moment when 80 couples cut the wedding cake, took souvenir photos and shared their joy. This was not only a ritual but also an opportunity for each person to look back on the past journey and appreciate their partner.

The Vietnam Happiness Festival 2025 is not only a cultural and tourism event but also a place to honor Vietnamese family values, connect the community and inspire positive living. Happiness, sometimes, is simply having each other in life and going through the long days together.
