Millions of LED lights transformed the facade of Notre Dame Cathedral into a dazzling backdrop right in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City, temporarily concealing the scaffolding that remained after years of restoration. From the cathedral's main courtyard and the sidewalk cafes near Hoa Binh Primary School to nearby areas like Nguyen Van Binh book street and the corner of the City Post Office, the area was packed with people.

The church's front yard was packed with people. Under the soft light, worshippers knelt in solemn prayer, while groups of young people eagerly posed for photos, their laughter and the sound of church bells echoing from within.

The magnificent light emanating from the church made anyone passing by stop and admire it.

At the corner of Cong Xa Paris and Han Thuyen streets, many groups of young people gathered to take photos. The outdoor cafe area in front of Hoa Binh Primary School was also completely full, with everyone arriving very early to choose the best vantage point to admire Notre Dame Cathedral.

On the sidewalk, hundreds of people sat chatting, eating, and gazing towards Notre Dame Cathedral amidst the lively atmosphere.

Shopping malls also simultaneously decorated with Christmas displays, reindeer, and giant Christmas trees, contributing to the vibrant atmosphere of the city center.

Locals and tourists continuously capture memorable moments beside Notre Dame Cathedral in the dazzling lights.

Nguyen Van Binh Book Street has also become one of the ideal spots to admire Notre Dame Cathedral.

To celebrate Christmas this year, over 1,000 km of LED string lights will be illuminated across the entire facade of the building and its two bell towers. According to representatives of the Archdiocese of Ho Chi Minh City, the official lighting will take place from 6:45 PM to 11:00 PM daily, starting on December 1st and lasting until January 5th, 2026, contributing to the festive atmosphere. This is the third year the church has been decorated with lights since 2017; the use of heat-free LED technology ensures safety and saves energy. Photo: Hieu Nguyen
