Fraudulent sale of diplomatic quotas for social housing

Recently, social housing projects have attracted a large number of people to line up to register for a purchase quota. Taking advantage of this, scammers have created many social media accounts, posted false information to create trust, and then lured people to pay fees such as application fees, difference fees, and "luck-winning lottery guarantee" fees. Authorities have affirmed that there is no such thing as a "diplomatic quota" or "internal quota" in the social housing policy.

"All of this information is related to illegal acts. The focus is on the group of acts of fraud and appropriation of property," affirmed Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Anh Tuan, Deputy Head of the Department of Cyber Security and Prevention of High-Tech Crime (PA05 - Hanoi City Police).

Authorities recommend that people be more vigilant about this type of information on social networks, especially on Facebook and Zalo. In addition, people need to learn carefully about policies and social housing projects so as not to have to go through any intermediary channels to register to buy social housing.

When people discover signs of fraudulent behavior in selling "diplomatic or internal quotas" of social housing, they should report it to the nearest authorities. Enterprises that have received money from people to buy social housing that is not related to their functions and duties should promptly return it before the authorities investigate and clarify.
