Lien Huong urgently overcomes the consequences of the flood

On December 5, after the flood receded, the authorities of Lien Huong commune (Lam Dong) urgently supported people to clean up and overcome the consequences of the flood.

On the morning of December 5, the Lien Huong Port Border Guard Station and the commune's military forces assisted fishermen in salvaging 10 more sunken and drifting boats.

In Phuoc The hamlets 1 and 2, mud and dirt are still scattered all over. Militia forces, youth union members and residents joined hands to move furniture and collect damaged mud-soaked items to put them on trucks for transport.

At schools in deeply flooded areas, militia, youth union members and teachers are cleaning up the mud left behind by the floods. All are working hard to quickly restore a safe learning environment for students.

Previously, on the afternoon of December 3, heavy rain in the upper reaches of Long Song River reservoir caused a sharp increase in water flow. By the night of December 3 and early morning of December 4, Binh Thuan Irrigation Works Exploitation Company Limited - Tuy Phong Branch announced that the flood discharge flow was up to 1,117m3/s, causing widespread flooding and damage in the downstream area.

According to preliminary statistics, Lien Huong commune suffered heavy damage with 26 boats sunk at the river mouth, of which 12 vehicles were salvaged; 32 boats broke their anchors and drifted out to sea and were pulled to anchor safely by the Border Guard force.

The flood also caused many houses in villages 1 and 2 of Phuoc The to be submerged 1 - 1.5 meters deep, damaging many crops and sweeping away livestock and poultry.
