On December 5, Lien Huong Port Border Guard Station, Lam Dong Provincial Border Guard Command informed that the unit had just salvaged 10 fishing boats that were swept away by floods.
Previously, on the afternoon of December 3, due to heavy rain at the headwaters of Long Song River reservoir, to ensure dam safety, Long Song River reservoir discharged floodwater at a flow rate of 1,200m3 /s, causing many fishing boats anchored at Lien Huong River mouth to break their anchors, drift, and sink.
According to preliminary statistics of the People's Committee of the commune, 32 fishing boats broke anchor and drifted, but were re-anchored and moved to a safe place; 26 fishing boats were submerged in water at the Lien Huong river mouth area.

Faced with the above situation, the Lien Huong Port Border Guard Station mobilized more than 30 soldiers to coordinate with local forces to support the families of ship owners to salvage 10 ships and pull back many ships that were swept away at the Lien Huong River mouth.
