New fees apply to ancient town relics
According to information from the Management Board of Hoan Kiem Lake and Hanoi Old Quarter, the collection of entrance fees at some key relics will be implemented based on Resolution 66 of the Hanoi People's Council. This is the first time these locations have applied ticket sales after a long period of being open to visitors for free.
Specifically, the fee of 20,000 VND per turn will be applied to all visitors. Revenue from tickets will be paid into the state budget to serve the management, restoration and promotion of the value of relics in the area.
Applicable schedule and location
The toll collection will be carried out in two phases:
- From December 8: Bach Ma Temple (76 Hang Buom) and Kim Ngan Communal House (42-44 Hang Bac).
- From January 1, 2026: Quan De Temple (28 Hang Buom) and Old Quarter Cultural Exchange Center (50 Dao Duy Tu).
These locations are open every day of the week. Morning hours are from 8am to 12pm, afternoon hours are from 1:30pm to 5:30pm. Especially on the three weekends (Friday, Saturday, Sunday), the monuments will open an additional evening session from 7pm to 9pm to serve tourists visiting the walking street.

Ticket discount policy
The management board also announced preferential policies for many different subjects:

Special features of the monuments
Bach Ma Temple, one of the "Four Guardians of Thang Long", was built in the 9th century to worship Long Do, the guardian deity of the ancient capital. The temple is not only an ancient architectural work but also a venue for traditional art performances such as Xam, Ca Tru, and Chau Van, offering visitors a profound cultural experience.

Meanwhile, Kim Ngan Communal House is the place to worship the founder of hundreds of crafts, showing respect for the traditional crafts of Hanoi. This is one of the largest and best preserved ancient communal houses in the Old Quarter.
