On the afternoon of December 5, the Hanoi Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department held a thematic information conference and a meeting to deploy key tasks of the city's press work in December 2025.
Reporting on ensuring supply and demand of goods, stabilizing the market during the end of 2025 and the Lunar New Year 2026, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade Nguyen The Hiep said that it is forecasted that purchasing power will increase by 3% to 20% during the Lunar New Year 2026. Hanoi has asked businesses to prepare large quantities of goods and implement price stabilization, while strengthening inspections to prevent shortages and price hikes.
Up to now, 19 production and business units of Hanoi city and other provinces have participated in the Market Stabilization Program, bringing stabilized goods to serve people through 10,700 points of sale, including 131 supermarkets; 6,093 general and specialized stores; and 245 points of sale in markets.
At the same time, Hanoi coordinates with provinces and cities to organize trade activities in Hanoi; organizes about 30 trade promotion events, fairs, exhibitions, etc., inviting businesses, cooperatives, and production and business households from provinces and cities to promote fruits, agricultural products, OCOP products, handicrafts, etc.

Continue to introduce the list of 3,000 agricultural products, OCOP products of provinces and 3,463 OCOP products of Hanoi to the distribution system for connection and consumption...
“Through trade promotion activities, the city has connected agricultural products, regional specialties, and OCOP products of Hanoi to supermarkets, chain stores, and points of sale in the city, contributing to increasing supply, limiting the risk of price fluctuations, and at the same time creating conditions for the consumption of local goods,” said Mr. Nguyen The Hiep.
Along with the task of ensuring the supply of goods, the Department of Industry and Trade has identified market inspection and control and food safety as key tasks, which are implemented regularly and continuously, especially in the last months of the year - when consumer demand increases and the risk of commercial fraud increases.
