After the province merger, the Northeast region including the provinces of Cao Bang, Lang Son, Phu Tho, Thai Nguyen, Tuyen Quang became an area with a particularly important strategic position in economic development, security - defense and foreign affairs. This is also a region rich in resources, with strengths in industry, tourism, forestry and border gate economy, and at the same time possesses great advantages in agricultural production and export, and supporting industry development.
In particular, Phu Tho province with an area of over 9,300km2 and a population of over 4 million people is among the largest localities in the country. Phu Tho borders 7 provinces and cities, including the capital Hanoi , which is a favorable condition for developing trade and logistics. In recent years, Phu Tho has continuously implemented many solutions to promote production, trade and export.

Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Phung Thi Kim Nga spoke at the conference.
In 2025, Phu Tho's export turnover is estimated to reach 36.8 billion USD, up 5.1% compared to 2024; import turnover is estimated to reach 36 billion USD, up 3.7%. This achievement contributes to putting Phu Tho in the group of provinces with large contributions to the country's import-export turnover.
Besides opportunities, the Northeastern provinces still face many challenges: complicated climate change; geopolitical competition between countries; the US imposes reciprocal tariffs on some of Vietnam's export products; increasingly high standards for imported goods into major markets. Along with that, trade defense measures are strongly applied by many countries, putting pressure on the region's strong industries.
In that context, the trade connection conference is considered an important opportunity for businesses in the region to strengthen connections, expand markets and consolidate supply chains, aiming for sustainable and deeper development in international trade.

Leaders of the Department of Industry and Trade of Phu Tho province spoke at the conference.
At the conference, delegates representing ministries, sectors, businesses and trade promotion organizations shared market information, international trade development orientations, and proposed solutions to strengthen production, distribution and export linkages.

Director of the Trade Promotion Agency Vu Ba Phu spoke at the conference.

Representative of Phu Tho Provincial Business Association spoke at the conference.
Representatives of Vietnam Trade Offices in Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and South Korea provided updated information on import demand, consumption trends, technical standards and quarantine requirements of each market. This is an important source of data to help businesses in the region orient their production plans, improve product quality and build appropriate market penetration strategies.
Industry associations, businesses and cooperatives in the region also introduced key products, competitive strengths and the need to find export partners. Many opinions emphasized the essential role of the State in supporting trade promotion, creating an environment for effective connection between manufacturing enterprises, distribution enterprises and export units.

Enterprises and suppliers take advantage of support from localities and departments under the Ministry of Industry and Trade and Trade Counselors and Trade Offices in foreign countries in trade promotion, expanding product consumption and export markets; proactively researching information and requirements from markets; investing in and applying new and advanced technologies; focusing on building and developing sustainable brands, increasing product value and proactively integrating into international markets.

Delegates visited the exhibition area and introduced products at the conference.
The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee hopes that the Trade Promotion Department, Ministry of Industry and Trade, will grasp information on price situations and market characteristics, thereby introducing and disseminating information to domestic production enterprises; continue to guide localities in implementing effective trade promotion activities; actively support enterprises, production and business establishments to expand markets and introduce Vietnamese products to the world.
