Urgent remedy

After many days of cleaning up, Hoang Thanh Do Luong Production and Investment Joint Stock Company (Du Long Industrial Park, Thuan Bac Commune) has resumed operations. According to Mr. Vu Van Dung - Director of the company, the flood caused many of the company's modern machines and equipment to be submerged, many raw materials could not be reused, nearly 400 workers had to take time off work; the factory's fence system also collapsed more than 350m. The total damage to the unit is estimated at more than 200,000 USD. Difficulties piled up, but the unit urgently implemented solutions to restore production to keep orders and jobs for workers. After the water receded, workers and company leaders worked together to clean up day and night. Up to now, almost all workers have returned to work at the factory, and the unit's production activities have gradually stabilized.

In Dien Phu Industrial Cluster, Nha Trang Garment Accessories Joint Stock Company was also severely affected with more than 400 machines, hundreds of tons of raw materials completely damaged, the steam system could not operate, estimated damage of more than 80 billion VND. To quickly restore production, in recent days, the company has mobilized more than 240 workers to urgently clean up mud, collect damaged raw materials and repair equipment and machinery. Despite the heavy damage, the company still paid full salaries, bonuses and benefits to all workers participating in the cleanup in recent days. However, in order to have more resources to better care for workers in difficult times, the company hopes that the province will have policies to reduce taxes, reduce bank debt, and exempt land rent for a period of time...

Ms. Ha Thi Hoa - Director of Hoang Thanh Du Long Industrial Park Investment Joint Stock Company (Du Long Industrial Park) said: After the flood receded, the unit urgently implemented remedial measures, cleaned up the environment, cleared the traffic system, supplied electricity and water to minimize the impact on the operations of enterprises. At the same time, the unit has established and approved a plan to prevent and control floods in the future; met with investors to listen to recommendations, encourage and share with enterprises. Up to now, the Industrial Park has resumed operations; the unit is actively supporting investors in collecting damaged materials, repairing machinery... The company proposed that the province invest in clearing the drainage system outside the Industrial Park, building reinforced embankments and adjusting the flow direction to reduce the impact of floods on enterprises; approved and guided the company to invest in a water plant in the Industrial Park according to the approved plan with a capacity of ^15,000m3 /day and night.

To help businesses, the Department of Industry and Trade has proposed to the Provincial People's Committee a number of policies to support businesses in restoring machinery and equipment, restoring production, and handling the environment after flooding; supporting infrastructure, capital, and preferential credit for affected businesses. At the same time, it is recommended that the Tax Department extend the deadline for submitting tax records and financial reports; extend tax payment, exempt late payment fees, exempt tax payments, and reduce some contributions (fees, charges, land taxes in the year of the natural disaster); support resource connection, prioritize waste treatment, industrial hygiene, prioritize continuous water supply to stabilize production... These policy proposals are being studied and considered by the province for implementation as soon as possible.

The local government and departments, branches and sectors of the province have also had many timely support activities. The working delegation of the provincial leaders, the Department of Industry and Trade, the Management Board of Economic Zones and Industrial Parks of the province, the Provincial Labor Federation... continuously went to the grassroots to grasp the situation, share difficulties and guide enterprises to prepare damage records, propose support; and give support to employees. Directly inspecting production activities and overcoming damage at a number of enterprises, comrade Ho Xuan Truong - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee shared difficulties and hoped that enterprises would proactively overcome difficulties, seek orders, maintain operations, ensure jobs and income for employees... He requested departments, branches and industrial park management units to support enterprises in overcoming damage and environmental sanitation; review and count the damage of enterprises and soon propose policies for the province to consider supporting. Units and localities reviewed the drainage system inside and outside the industrial park, proposed investments to ensure the best drainage; Proactively grasp the operational situation of FDI enterprises, promptly encourage and support. Relevant departments, branches and units work with banks to have policies to reduce or extend debt for enterprises...
