Vietnam is also one of the countries that achieved the Millennium Development Goals on gender equality and women's empowerment the earliest. The proportion of female leaders and managers in Party and State agencies has increased.

In particular, women are also a large workforce in society and participate in business leadership (about 30% of Vietnamese businesses have women in the ownership structure, much higher than in many other countries). Women play an increasingly important role in the fields of scientific research, culture, sports, tourism, security, foreign affairs...
The Prime Minister emphasized that, along with the struggle for gender equality, progress and social justice, we must encourage and create more favorable conditions for women to fully develop their intelligence, capacity and efficiency for the country's rapid and sustainable development, worthy of the important position and role of women in the family and society.
The project "Supporting women to start businesses in the period 2017 - 2025" (Project 939) has supported more than 118,000 women to start businesses and start businesses (nearly 6 times the set target); supported the establishment of more than 1,600 new cooperatives and over 6,000 cooperative groups managed and operated by women (6.6 times the target).
More than 130,000 newly established female enterprises were consulted and supported (1.3 times the target); more than 2,400 billion VND of capital was connected through banks, support funds, and microfinance; over 1,800 competitions and women's startup festivals created a strong ripple effect with many projects reaching the international market (clean agricultural products, OCOP...).
The Prime Minister proudly recounted the story of when he traveled abroad and witnessed leaders of other countries giving souvenirs to international guests, which were Vietnamese OCOP products such as lotus seeds, silk, cashew nuts, etc., in which Vietnamese women made a great contribution.

"We are very moved, behind each woman's start-up story is a flame of aspiration, determination to rise up, change her life, the spirit of innovation and creativity, and legitimate enrichment. Behind each start-up model and project is the tireless, persistent effort, the will to dedicate, the determination and fierceness of Vietnamese women that have been given wings," the Prime Minister emphasized.
President of the Vietnam Women's Union Nguyen Thi Tuyen said the project has raised awareness, aroused aspirations, inspired, and created a widespread start-up movement among women.
The quality of women's start-up projects is increasingly improved; many projects have been developed into sustainable enterprises, cooperatives and cooperative groups, creating jobs for tens of thousands of female workers.
In the period from 2026 to 2030, the project sets out goals such as supporting and consulting 50,000 enterprises, cooperatives, and business households owned by women who need to access preferential credit sources and start-up and innovation funds.
