In mid-November, as the peak season for international tourists begins, the Cu Chi Tunnels historical site is always packed with visitors.
But the biggest attraction for international tourists isn't just the tunnels themselves, but the tour guides. Young, professional, and fluent in foreign languages—many speak two or three languages like English, Chinese, and Korean—their vivid, engaging, and emotional storytelling captivates everyone in the tour groups, from the elderly to the young.

At the tunnel entrance, the atmosphere was always lively. Each time a tourist ducked down into the narrow opening and then surfaced, applause and cheers erupted from above. Amidst the crowd, Mark Wilson (29 years old, a Canadian tourist) was still breathless after overcoming the challenge. Leaning on his knees to catch his breath, he shook his head and laughed, "Unbelievable!"
The challenge of crawling through the Cu Chi Tunnels even became a "trend" on the international TikTok platform.

Meanwhile, Mark's friends were still holding their phones, recording the entire moment he crawled down into the tunnel, covered himself with camouflage leaves, and then emerged amidst cheers. Just a few minutes later, the clip was posted straight to TikTok with the caption: "The challenge of crawling through the Cu Chi Tunnels in Vietnam is much harder than imagined!" Besides Mark, many other tourists also watched the video , laughing and quickly sharing their feelings on social media.

Ms. Xiaomi Mini (33 years old, a Chinese tourist living in Vietnam) said that the shooting part was her favorite experience because it was "unique and rarely found elsewhere." She lives in Ho Chi Minh City with her husband, runs a restaurant, and creates travel content, often filming videos to promote Vietnam as a tourist destination for friends back home. "I stayed in Vietnam because of the sunny, pleasant climate and the many interesting places to visit," she shared.

A representative from Saigon River Star, the tour operator bringing visitors to Cu Chi, affirmed that tour guides are the "soul" of the product. The characteristic of Cu Chi tourism is telling the story of Vietnamese culture, history, and people. If the story isn't told well or with enough emotion, it's very difficult to retain visitors.

The main tourist markets include Europe, North America, East Asia, and China. Maintaining its appeal is not only due to the value of the unique tunnel system, but also to the quality of service and increasingly professional guided tours, which help tourists gain a deeper understanding of Vietnamese history, culture, and spirit.
