Accordingly, for rice, the planting season is arranged differently between the communes and wards in the East and West of the province. In the East, the 3-crop rice fields are sown from November 25 to December 5; the 2-crop rice fields are sown from December 15 to December 25, to ensure the rice ripening time falls in early March 2026; the low-lying rice fields are flexibly sown until the end of January 2026. In the West of the province, the rice fields are proactively sown from December 5 to December 31, depending on local conditions; the rice fields lacking water at the end of the season are recommended to sow early and finish before December 10; the areas frequently affected by floods are sown later from December 20, 2025 to January 10, 2026.

The rice variety structure for each region is also clearly guided. The Eastern region prioritizes the varieties DV108, VNR20, Dai Thom 8, An Sinh 1399 in the 3-crop rice fields; the Khang Dan mutant varieties, DB6, and the group of short-term, medium-term and long-term varieties are added according to production conditions. Some promising varieties, such as DB18, TBT132, QC03, HG12... are also encouraged to be tested. In the Western region, the main varieties include TBR97, DT100, Dai Thom 8, Huong Thom No. 1, Nhi Uu 838; at the same time, the varieties OM5451, ST25, TBR225, HG12... are added.

For upland crops, the Department of Agriculture and Environment guides planting from November to the end of December 2025 for high, well-drained land; low-lying fields are sown from January to early February 2026. Vegetables can be spread out from November 2025 to the end of February 2026. The list of corn, peanut, cassava, and sugarcane varieties is recommended to use quality varieties with few pests and diseases, limiting poor quality varieties, especially for cassava at risk of mosaic disease.

For long-term industrial crops and fruit trees, localities are required to review the area and strictly manage it according to the approved plan to avoid rapid development. Coffee replanting continues to be implemented according to the plan. The new planting and replanting seasons must be suitable to the climate and water resources of each region; at the same time, the varieties must be selected according to market demand, ensuring origin, quality and soil suitability.

Along with the crop calendar and variety structure, the Department of Agriculture and Environment also offers many solutions to direct production. Localities must closely monitor the weather and flood situation to arrange early, concentrated, and flexible planting; prioritize short-term varieties, reduce production costs by reducing the amount of seeds, chemical fertilizers, and pesticides. The conversion of crop structure in inefficient land areas is encouraged to increase economic value and adapt to climate. The Department requires strengthening the construction and development of raw material areas associated with processing and consumption, promoting chain production, and developing large-scale specialized areas. The work of checking the origin and quality of plant varieties and agricultural materials; monitoring pesticide residues; managing growing area codes, especially growing areas for export must be carried out regularly and seriously.

In addition, the province aims to attract investment in high-tech agricultural projects, develop deep processing industry, improve irrigation, transportation and logistics systems to improve production capacity and competitiveness of Gia Lai agricultural products. The issuance of the crop calendar and variety structure for the 2025-2026 Winter-Spring crop is expected to help farmers proactively produce, limit risks, improve productivity and quality of agricultural products, contributing to ensuring food security and sustainable agricultural economic development in the province.
