On November 30, at the 1st Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in Ho Chi Minh City, term 2025 - 2030, Mr. Tran Luu Quang, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, said that the Front is not only a bridge between the Party, the government and the people, but also a place to gather, connect and spread the strength of great national unity - a decisive factor for the stability and sustainable development of the city of more than 10 million people.

Mr. Tran Luu Quang, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, spoke at the solemn session of the Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Ho Chi Minh City on November 30.
“The Front’s spirit of solidarity is not on paper, but is demonstrated through concrete actions. This has been clearly demonstrated by the Ho Chi Minh City Front’s timely mobilization of resources to support the people of the Central region during the recent serious natural disaster. In times of distress, the solidarity of the city’s people has ignited the spirit of solidarity, further affirming the Front’s leading role in connecting the community,” Mr. Tran Luu Quang added.

According to Mr. Tran Luu Quang, in the coming time, the Fatherland Front system at all levels must innovate more strongly in organizing movements and selecting action content. Each movement must aim for practicality, have clear evaluation criteria, and avoid showing off.
According to him, the effectiveness of the Front is measured by the actions that bring concrete results to the people: a road is repaired, a residential area is renovated, a poor household is supported in a timely manner or a petition is listened to and thoroughly resolved. "Only when it correctly solves the problems that are close to the people, can the Front truly be the support of the people and the place where the Party and the government place their trust," said Mr. Tran Luu Quang.

Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Tran Luu Quang presented the Prime Minister 's Certificate of Merit to the collective of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City.
"One of the issues that the Front needs to pay attention to is improving social supervision and criticism. This is not a task to complete targets or reports, but a direct responsibility to the people. The Front's supervision must address major and difficult issues, such as planning management, progress of key projects, personnel work, public ethics, and service quality of the administrative apparatus. Social criticism must be based on legal grounds, have clear arguments, and especially must be pursued to the end to protect the interests of the community. Supervision must be in-depth, criticism must be well-founded, and recommendations must be responsible. Only then can the Front create real trust among the people," Mr. Tran Luu Quang suggested.

Leaders of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City received support from the Fund for the Poor and City relief resources from units and businesses.
In the spirit of the City's leadership's orientation, Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Loc, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, said that in the new term, the Front will focus on promoting the intelligence and creativity of all classes of people to create high consensus in implementing socio-economic development tasks.
In the coming time, the coordination between the Front and the government will continue to be strengthened, especially in the field of social security and improving people's lives; programs to mobilize and support the poor and care for vulnerable groups will be implemented in a sustainable and in-depth manner.

Delegates voted to pass the Congress Resolution.
According to Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Loc, the Front must become a place where people can trust and seek support when they need support, when they encounter difficulties or when they want to send their legitimate wishes and petitions. To meet that requirement, the Front organization at all levels will be strengthened in a more professional direction, closer to the people.
Front officials must enhance their dialogue skills, grasp information and people's thoughts right from the grassroots. In particular, the Front will continue to promote its role as "a flag that gathers people's hearts", strengthen people's trust and accompany the City on the journey of sustainable development.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Ha, Vice President and General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, spoke at the Congress on November 30.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Ha, Vice President and General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, also acknowledged the outstanding achievements of the Ho Chi Minh City Fatherland Front in recent times, and emphasized that the City is playing a pioneering role in the country in innovation, creativity and effective implementation of many models of Front work towards the grassroots.
Ho Chi Minh City is also a locality that has made a great contribution to the overall development of the country, so the requirements for the City Front are very high. To meet the new requirements, the Ho Chi Minh City Front needs to focus on five key tasks.

Ho Chi Minh City Front does a good job of social security and taking care of the people.
Accordingly, first of all, the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Ho Chi Minh City needs to closely follow the Resolution of the City Party Congress, proactively participate in solving major issues such as urban planning, infrastructure development, organizational arrangement, building smart cities and sustainable development. The Front needs to promote its role as a bridge between the government and the people, proactively listen to the opinions of experts, intellectuals and businesses to advise on appropriate solutions for the City. Along with that, the work of caring for and protecting the legitimate and legal rights of the people must be placed in the center, especially for the disadvantaged and poor workers, ensuring that all support is timely and meets the needs.

In addition, the Vietnam Fatherland Front in Ho Chi Minh City needs to improve the quality of social supervision and criticism, choosing practical issues such as environment, land management, social housing development, administrative reform, anti-corruption and pursuing recommendations to the end to protect people's rights. To do that, the Front organizations at all levels need to be truly consolidated, with a team of cadres with courage, expertise and skills in mobilizing the masses.
Finally, the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Ho Chi Minh City must continue to promote its role as a nucleus of solidarity in a diverse urban area like Ho Chi Minh City, connecting people of all walks of life, religions, ethnicities and overseas Vietnamese, contributing to mobilizing intelligence and resources for the city's overall development.
"With its tradition of humanity, dynamism and creativity, Ho Chi Minh City will continue to play a leading role in the country; the City Front system will be stronger, more humane and truly become a support for the people in all circumstances. Each Front official must be closer to the people, understand the people better, speak the people's voice and act for the people's interests," Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Ha suggested.
According to Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Loc, after nearly two days of working in an urgent and serious atmosphere, with the motto "Solidarity - Democracy - Compassion - Development", the 1st Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in Ho Chi Minh City completed all contents in accordance with the instructions of the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front. The Congress was a great success, demonstrating the high unity of the delegates in the process of discussion and resolution.
During the congress, delegates promoted their sense of responsibility and intelligence, discussed in depth the contents of the documents, and unanimously approved the Summary Report on the activities of the City Fatherland Front for the period 2024 - 2025. The report comprehensively and objectively assessed the achieved results, clearly pointing out the limitations that need to be overcome so that the City Front can continue to innovate strongly in the new term.
The Congress also adopted the Resolution and Action Program for the 2025 - 2030 term with 9 targets, 6 action programs and 2 key programs, reflecting the high political determination of the City Front system. This is an important foundation for the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Ho Chi Minh City to effectively implement the Party's policies, the City's tasks and the role of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in the new period, contributing to building an increasingly strong national unity bloc.
