Specifically, the retail price of Petrolimex gas cylinders (including VAT) in December 2025 in the Hanoi market is 411,500 VND/12 kg household cylinder; 1,646,000 VND/48 kg industrial cylinder, respectively increasing by 8,400 VND/12 kg cylinder and 33,700 VND/48 kg cylinder (including VAT).

A representative of Petrolimex Gas Corporation said that the retail gas price in December increased because the average world gas price contract in December was at 490 USD/ton, an increase of 22.5 USD/ton compared to November, so Petrolimex Gas Corporation adjusted the increase accordingly.

Thus, since the beginning of the year, gas prices have increased twice, decreased seven times and remained unchanged three times.

World gas prices are calculated based on the CP gas reference price (Contract Price), announced by major suppliers such as Saudi Aramco to set LPG prices on the international market. World CP gas prices are usually announced at the end of the month and applied from the beginning of the following month.

Gas prices in Vietnam currently still depend on the world's imported gas prices because Vietnam has not yet met its domestic consumption output. Accordingly, fluctuations in gas prices in Vietnam depend on many factors such as: USD/VND exchange rate, gas transportation fees, business output; fluctuations in supply and demand, import tax policies, value added tax, etc.

In the world market, as of 5:50 p.m. on November 30 (Vietnam time), the price of LNG natural gas in the US market was trading at 4.85 USD/mmBTU, an increase of 6.41% compared to the previous price.
