"Vietnam-Laos comprehensive cooperation is a priceless asset of the two peoples"

Ahead of the State visit of General Secretary To Lam, his wife and a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation to Laos from December 1-2 and to attend the rally, parade and march to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the National Day of the Lao People's Democratic Republic (December 2, 1975 - December 2, 2025) at the invitation of General Secretary and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith, a reporter from the Vietnam News Agency in Laos had an interview with Mr. Laopaoxong Navongxay - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Propaganda and Training Commission of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Central Committee - about the process of building and developing Laos over the past 50 years, as well as the loyal and pure companionship of the Party, State and people of Vietnam with the revolutionary cause of Laos.

Opening the discussion, Mr. Laopaoxong Navongxay affirmed that the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Laos and Vietnam is a priceless asset of the two peoples, forged with blood and sweat, tested over time and increasingly developing sustainably.

Throughout the 50-year journey of building and defending the Fatherland since the founding of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and the Communist Party of Vietnam have always closely coordinated, shared experiences and supported each other in all fields.

Vietnam is not only a friend and comrade, but also a reliable support and companion of Laos in the most difficult times, as well as in the current stage of development.

One of the areas of cooperation that Mr. Laopaoxong Navongxay particularly emphasized was human resource training. According to him, many generations of Lao leaders and key officials have been trained in Vietnam in many different fields, from political theory, economics, diplomacy to national defense-security, science-technology...

This is a vivid demonstration of the trust, solidarity and close cooperation between the two Parties, and at the same time shows Vietnam's practical and effective support for Laos' long-term development cause.

Besides the field of training, the cooperative relationship between the two Parties, two States and peoples of Laos and Vietnam is also regularly maintained through high-level visits and exchanges at many levels and in many sectors.

Vietnam has provided non-refundable aid for many important projects in Laos, contributing to promoting socio-economic development, especially in localities with many difficulties.

Many transport infrastructure projects, schools, hospitals, training centers, and agricultural-forestry cooperative zones built with Vietnam's aid capital have been and are showing clear effectiveness in the lives of Lao people.

In the field of health and education, Vietnam has supported the construction of many hospitals and schools in the provinces and remote areas of Laos; at the same time, it has sent medical experts, teachers and lecturers to provide professional support. This is an extremely meaningful assistance, contributing to improving the quality of health and education services in Laos.

Mr. Laopaoxong Navongxay said that the most important thing is that both Parties, States and peoples of the two countries are always deeply aware of their responsibility to preserve and foster the special Laos-Vietnam relationship.

This is a common asset, a sacred heritage that previous generations have worked hard to build, and today's generations have the obligation to inherit, protect and promote.

Mr. Laopaoxong Navongxay expressed his belief that with the Resolution of the 12th National Congress of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and the Resolution of the upcoming 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the two Parties will continue to closely coordinate leadership and direction in all fields, bringing the cooperative relationship between the two countries to become increasingly deeper, practical and effective.

Regarding future orientations, Mr. Laopaoxong Navongxay said that the two sides will continue to implement agreements and exchange minutes between the Lao Politburo and the Vietnamese Politburo, including many strategic contents on comprehensive cooperation.

Mr. Laopaoxong Navongxay emphasized that Vietnamese students studying in Laos and Lao students studying in Vietnam not only contribute to improving qualifications but also serve as an important bridge for the young generations of the two countries to have a deeper understanding of the history of the two countries' loyal, pure, and unique relationship in the world.

According to the Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, the most important thing is that Laos and Vietnam need to continue educating and propagating so that all classes of people, especially the young generation - those who will master the future of the country - clearly understand, appreciate and continue to preserve, cultivate and develop the special Laos-Vietnam relationship.

On this occasion, Mr. Laopaoxong Navongxay expressed his sincere thanks to the Party, State and people of Vietnam for always giving great, pure and effective affection and support to the Party, State and people of Laos; expressing his belief that in the coming time, on the basis of the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries, Laos and Vietnam will continue to overcome all challenges together, develop prosperity and further tighten the exemplary and loyal relationship between the two brotherly nations./.
