The Community Agricultural Extension Team model will be deployed nationwide from 2022 with the goal of proactively shifting from a supportive agricultural extension mindset to a connected, multi-value integrated agricultural extension mindset, associated with agricultural economic knowledge and skills. After implementing the 2-level local government model, the Community Agricultural Extension Team model is a new direction to connect the agricultural extension system with the business community, socio- political and professional organizations to better support farmers in applying technical advances and useful solutions to production, helping to improve livelihoods and increase income. Thereby, contributing to building an effective and sustainable agriculture in the direction of ecological agriculture, modern countryside, and civilized farmers.
To date, the whole country has established 5,187 community agricultural extension teams with 47,493 members, of which Phu Tho province has 39 teams with 249 members. After establishment and consolidation, community agricultural extension teams in localities have coordinated with functional units to transfer technical advances in production to enterprises, cooperatives and farmers.

Community agricultural extension teams have also advised and supported the People's Committees of communes in propagating, consulting, and introducing people to participate in training courses on traceability, building growing area codes, and providing guidance on implementing food safety commitments...
At the conference, delegates focused on discussing key issues such as: improving the quality of activities of community agricultural extension teams; requesting competent authorities to promptly arrange and assign jobs for officers of the Agricultural Extension Center currently performing tasks at regional stations after ceasing operations; supporting operating costs, computer systems for digital transformation...

Concluding the conference, Director of the National Agricultural Extension Center Le Quoc Thanh highly appreciated the results achieved by community agricultural extension teams in the past time. At the same time, he affirmed that this is the most important force in the agricultural extension system. He hoped that members of community agricultural extension teams would continue to promote results, proactively and actively study to improve their professional knowledge, digital transformation; focus on converting and replicating effective agricultural production models; promote links with cooperatives, cooperative groups, and enterprises, helping farmers have a stable market for their products.
Comrade Le Quoc Thanh requested the leaders of the Department of Agriculture and Environment to coordinate with the People's Committees of communes to improve the agricultural extension organization; build and have a support mechanism for the agricultural extension collaborator system; and not to bureaucratize the work of agricultural extension.
The Director of the National Agricultural Extension Center affirmed that the comments at the conference were received and compiled into documents to advise the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment on mechanisms and policies to support community agricultural extension teams. At the same time, training materials will be issued soon, and adequate resources will be allocated for localities to build effective community agricultural extension teams when implementing the 2-level local government model.
