Many exporters said demand from the Middle East, the US and Europe is showing a slight increase in December. However, the new crop expected to hit the market from the first quarter of 2026 could cause prices to fall if supplies become abundant.
According to the Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association (VPSA), the reciprocal tax exemption policy helps Vietnamese enterprises have a better competitive advantage compared to countries that do not enjoy tax incentives. Thanks to that, distributors in the US also reduce import costs, creating favorable conditions for signing new contracts.
VPSA expects this policy to contribute to stabilizing the Vietnamese pepper and spice market in 2026, expanding market share in the US and strengthening trade relations. This is also an opportunity for businesses to increase exports, renegotiate prices or increase output to meet growing demand from this market.
