The 2025 Global Coffee Heritage Festival is being held for the first time with the goal of turning Lam Dong into the coffee capital of the world. The event is part of the local economic, tourism and cultural development strategy, aiming to create sustainable and long-term values.
The festival is an opportunity to affirm the Lam Dong coffee brand, while strongly promoting the local image to tourists and investors. Through the event, the province hopes to attract more resources and expand its cooperation network in the coffee industry.
Lam Dong was chosen to host the event thanks to its ideal ecosystem, cool highland climate and over 100 years of Arabica growing history. The harmonious combination of tourism, agriculture and culture makes the locality stand out from other regions, creating a solid foundation for forming an international-scale festival.
The festival will take place annually, aiming to make Da Lat one of the important coffee cities in the world. This is a step in the long-term strategy to develop Da Lat into a center for research, innovation, experience and coffee trade on a global scale.
World coffee prices today
Coffee prices on the world market fell sharply on two floors:
Robusta Coffee (London):
Delivery in January 2026: Down 9 USD/ton, to 4,504 USD/ton.
Delivery in March 2026: Down 12 USD/ton, to 4,365 USD/ton.
Arabica Coffee (New York):
Delivery December 2025: Down 2.6 cents/lb, to 411.6 cents/lb.
March 2026 delivery: Down 3.4 cents/lb, to 379.9 cents/lb.
Coffee prices on both exchanges fell after the EU extended the implementation of the EUDR by one year. This decision had a strong impact on market sentiment, as the delay allowed supplies from Africa, Indonesia and South America to continue flowing into Europe without facing legal barriers, creating the feeling that supply will be less tense in the short term.
However, many experts believe that the decline is short-term because weather factors still put great pressure on raw material areas. In Brazil, rainfall in Minas Gerais last week was only 50% below average, raising concerns about the condition of Arabica crops. In Dak Lak, heavy rains are forecast to slow down the Robusta harvest, thereby creating a driving force for price increases in the coming time.
ICE inventories are also falling sharply, with Arabica stocks hitting their lowest in nearly two years and Robusta hitting a six-month low. The physical shortage at ports means the market could bounce back at any moment, despite the news of supply support from Europe.
In the medium to long term, the coffee market will continue to be torn between expectations of higher production from Brazil and Vietnam next year and the risk of extreme weather that is difficult to predict. These two factors will determine the direction of prices in the coming time.
