Opening of Bac Ninh Fruit Festival 2025 - Spreading the quintessence of Vietnamese agricultural products

BAC NINH - On the evening of December 5, at the Central Square, Chu Ward (Bac Ninh), the opening ceremony of the "Bac Ninh Fruit Festival 2025" took place, organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province. Attending the opening ceremony were comrades: Nguyen Hong Thai, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Thi Huong, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Viet Oanh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Pham Hoang Son, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Tran Huy Phuong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee.

Attending the opening ceremony were Vice Chairmen of the Provincial People's Council and People's Committee; representatives of some departments, offices and institutes of the Ministry of Industry and Trade; Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission; Central Inspection Commission; Ministry of Agriculture and Environment ; Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee; representatives of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; leaders of provincial departments, branches, sectors and mass organizations; representatives of the Department of Industry and Trade of some provinces and cities in the region; leaders of wards and communes in the province, associations, enterprises, retail corporations, wholesale markets... and a large number of people inside and outside the province.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Festival, Comrade Pham Van Thinh, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation - Head of the Festival Organizing Committee emphasized that 2025 is a special milestone when Bac Ninh and Bac Giang provinces merge, forming a new Bac Ninh with rich traditions and aspirations to rise up. The successful 1st Congress of the Bac Ninh Provincial Party Committee, term 2025 - 2030, has determined the strategy of developing ecological, high-tech, circular agriculture as the foundation, combining deep processing and traceability to create multi-layered value agriculture; at the same time, raising the level of the new rural program in an advanced and exemplary direction, aiming to bring a more prosperous life to the people.

Comrade Pham Van Thinh said that the Bac Ninh Fruit Festival 2025 has great significance, affirming a development vision, taking agriculture as a green pillar in the development strategy of the new Bac Ninh province. The whole province currently has nearly 54,000 hectares of fruit trees, of which more than 8,600 hectares are citrus trees; the output reaches over 80,000 tons, worth about 1,800 billion VND.

The area of ​​oranges meeting VietGAP standards is more than 1,700 hectares; the area of ​​grapefruit meeting VietGAP standards is more than 3,700 hectares. More than 780 OCOP products present in the market are vivid evidence of the continuous efforts of localities, businesses and farmers in enhancing the value of agricultural products in the province.

The highlight of the Bac Ninh Fruit Festival 2025 is the new approach: Harmoniously combining culture - tourism - technology to expand the market, increase product value and accompany farmers, businesses and cooperatives on the integration journey. This will be a festival of transformation, of innovation and of a firm belief in a modern, multi-value, green and sustainable agriculture.

After the opening speech of comrade Pham Van Thinh, the provincial leaders and delegates performed the opening ceremony of the Festival.

At the Opening Ceremony, there was also an auction of 4 beautiful orange and grapefruit trees selected from local gardens. Through the public auction, 4 orange and grapefruit trees were bid by 4 businessmen with a total amount of 631 million VND.

In addition, the Festival also received support from the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) Bac Giang Branch; the Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam (Agribank) Bac Giang II Branch and Huu Hao General Trading Company Limited, with a total amount of 570 million VND.

The Organizing Committee has stopped the fireworks display at the Festival to save this money to support people to overcome the consequences of natural disasters. The entire amount will be given by the Organizing Committee to the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee to support people in the Central Highlands and Central Vietnam who suffered damage from recent storms and floods.

At the opening ceremony, delegates and visitors from all over the world enjoyed a special art program, with performances such as: homeland drums, lion and dragon dances; homeland festival and songs about the renewed homeland...

Before that, provincial leaders and delegates visited the fruit garden in Chu ward and booths displaying and introducing products in the Festival program.

According to the plan, the Bac Ninh Fruit Festival 2025 to display, promote, introduce and sell products will take place from December 5 to 10, 2025, organized by the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province.

People of Chu ward and neighboring wards and communes attended the opening ceremony of the festival.

There are 8 display spaces here, including: Display space for fruits and agricultural products of communes and wards of Bac Ninh province, which are prominently decorated to introduce and promote typical fruits of the region such as lychee (products processed from lychee), oranges, grapefruits... Fruit models, decorative miniature landscapes, check-in miniature landscapes...; display of ornamental creatures.

Spaces: Displaying fruits and agricultural products of some typical provinces and cities; displaying, introducing, supplying (selling) agricultural tools, machinery, production - preservation - processing technology; displaying biotechnology in agricultural production, waste treatment in agricultural production activities; demonstrating e-commerce activities: Sendo, Tiktok, Shopee, livestream with KOLs, KOCs and agricultural cooperatives; introducing local cuisine; demonstrating the cultural identity of Bac Ninh province and exhibition space History - Outstanding achievements of Ha Bac - Bac Giang - Bac Ninh provinces past and present (welcoming the success of the Provincial Party Congress, towards the 14th National Party Congress).
