Records at many traditional markets in Ho Chi Minh City show that the price of vegetables has shown signs of cooling down, but the group of spices, especially chili, has increased dramatically after the flood. Currently, green chili is sold at 150,000 VND/kg, chili pepper is 170,000 VND and chili pepper is 130,000 VND/kg - three times higher than the same period and double the time before storm No. 13.

Many retailers at traditional markets have also reduced their purchases. At Tan Dinh market, Ms. Hoa said she only dared to buy 300-500 grams of each type instead of a kilo like before. At Xom Moi market, An Hoi Dong ward, some stalls stopped selling because the price of green chili peppers had increased too much and there was a shortage of goods. Meanwhile, at Thu Duc agricultural wholesale market, the wholesale price of red chili peppers increased to 135,000 VND per kilogram, an increase of 60,000 VND compared to the end of November.

In Hanoi, chili prices have also increased sharply. In markets and supermarkets, chili peppers cost between 100,000 and 150,000 VND per kilogram. A food store owner in Tay Mo Ward said the price has increased 3-4 times compared to last year, but buyers still accept it because the consumption is not large.
According to traders, prolonged rains and storms have damaged growing areas, causing yields to drop sharply. Many households have not been able to harvest due to unfavorable weather, making supplies increasingly scarce and pushing prices skyrocketing.

In contrast to the rising trend of herbs, the leafy vegetable group has begun to cool down. Suppliers in Hanoi said that Malabar spinach has decreased to 5,000 - 12,000 VND per bunch; broccoli from 50,000 VND to 18,000 - 20,000 VND per plant; cabbage has dropped to 15,000 - 30,000 VND per kg.

In Ho Chi Minh City, green vegetables at Ba Chieu and Thi Nghe markets have decreased by 5-10% compared to last week. Tomatoes are currently at 50,000 - 65,000 VND per kilogram, lettuce is 65,000 - 75,000 VND...

Representatives of wholesale markets in Ho Chi Minh City said that except for chili, prices of many green vegetables have returned to pre-storm levels, and supplies are also more abundant. On the night of December 3, the amount of goods arriving at Thu Duc wholesale market reached 1,716 tons, about 100 tons higher than average, helping prices continue to cool down.

In the context of gradually stabilizing supply, Co.opmart representative acknowledged that the price of green vegetables is gradually decreasing as production recovers, and is expected to decrease further in the next few weeks.

This system continues to implement the price stabilization program, supporting capital for farmers' reproduction. From December 4 to 19, more than 100 Tick Xanh products are discounted by 10-30% in the Central and Southern regions.
