To ensure the productivity and quality of the Chiem Xuan crop, the Department of Agriculture and Environment recommends that localities maximize the area of late spring rice with high-yield, high-quality rice varieties that are resistant to pests and adverse external conditions, and plan concentrated production areas.
For direct-sown rice in places with conditions, proactive irrigation, with short-term rice varieties, strive to basically complete before February 25, 2026. Each commune and ward should select 3-4 main varieties to direct production in concentrated areas to improve production efficiency. Particularly in mountainous communes with special conditions, the sowing and planting time frame can be adjusted accordingly.
In addition, localities need to proactively develop plans to prevent and control harmful pests right from the beginning of the season; pay attention to harmful organisms: Black-striped dwarf disease, leaf blast disease, rice blast disease, stem borers, brown planthoppers - white-backed planthoppers, especially harmful rats;
Increase crop rotation of vegetables to limit pests and increase production efficiency. Apply synchronous mechanization to reduce labor to increase productivity, product quality, and enhance production value.
Effectively implement the province's production support policies; have additional support policies suitable to local conditions to encourage farmers to expand production. Encourage and create conditions for organizations and individuals to borrow land, rent land, and establish concentrated production zones to create large-scale agricultural products.
The Department of Agriculture and Environment assigned the Department of Crop Production and Plant Protection to preside over and coordinate with relevant units to inspect, urge, and grasp the growth and development of crops; to carry out well the investigation, prediction and forecast of the development of pests and diseases in the fields, and to direct and guide timely and effective care and prevention.
The Provincial Agricultural Extension Center has done a good job of propagating and training on transferring technical advances in production. It has built demonstration models, especially high-tech application models, to evaluate and select effective models for expanding production application.
