Son La: Removing obstacles to tourism development in Moc Chau and Van Ho areas.

On December 3rd, Mr. Ha Trung Chien, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Permanent Vice Chairman of the Son La Provincial People's Committee, along with a delegation, inspected and worked with wards and communes in the Moc Chau and Van Ho areas, as well as businesses and households, to address difficulties in tourism development. Also present were Mr. Nguyen Thanh Cong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, and leaders from several departments and agencies.

The provincial working group inspected, assessed the situation, and resolved difficulties and obstacles related to tourism infrastructure with 7 units and businesses in the Moc Chau and Van Ho areas, including: Moc Chau Island tourist destination; Ban Ang pine forest high-end resort and entertainment area; the clean agriculture -related tourism project; Vigolando community tourism destination; Heritage Village eco-tourism and resort project; Hua Tat entertainment area project in Van Ho commune; and Tat Nang waterfall - Bo Am hot spring eco-tourism area project.

The provincial delegation worked with Moc Chau and Moc Son wards and businesses and households on the development of community tourism.

During the meeting, delegates raised opinions and discussed issues such as guiding businesses and households to use multi-purpose land for tourism development; the procedures, scale, and structure for constructing modular, detachable structures on agricultural land; developing tourism on forest land without affecting forest quality; taxing agricultural land used for tourism development; and improving the effectiveness of community tourism development, ensuring it aligns with practical conditions and is linked to sustainable economic development goals.   

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Ha Trung Chien, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, requested relevant departments and agencies to develop and issue specific guidelines on the implementation of multi-purpose land use and the construction of prefabricated structures for community tourism development; and to develop plans for accommodation facilities in localities according to a roadmap, ensuring the ability to welcome tourists. Moc Chau and Moc Son wards should develop and implement plans for community tourism destinations, following a "hands-on" approach to help households develop tourism in a systematic and professional manner. Continued encouragement and motivation should be given to households with potential land to exploit and develop community tourism.

The Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested that departments, agencies, and wards develop plans and implement a review and upgrading of roads leading to tourist destinations such as Ta So, Happy Land, and Vat Hong Pagoda; and restore some historical relics… to ensure that tourists can visit and experience the Moc Chau National Tourist Area.
