Speaking at the award ceremony, Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Duong Anh Duc said that the Award for composing and promoting literary, artistic and journalistic works on the theme "Studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style" is not only a professional award, but also a campaign to promote extensive political and cultural activities among cadres, party members, association members, artists, journalists and people of the city; creating a spread, inspiration and urging the spirit of studying and following Uncle Ho throughout society.
“I hope and expect that the city’s artists and journalists will continue to promote their sense of responsibility, constantly innovate their thinking and creative methods, and seek out modern and attractive ways of expression, especially for the younger generation. We can go deeper into exploiting and portraying the depth of thought, spreading the moral values and sophistication in Ho Chi Minh’s style, so that literary, artistic, journalistic and publishing works are both spiritual food and a constructive voice, using beauty to eliminate ugliness, boldly criticizing negative manifestations and degradation in political ideology, morality and lifestyle and promoting noble values in daily life,” emphasized comrade Duong Anh Duc.
Continuing the success of 7 times of organization, the Award for composing and promoting literary, artistic and journalistic works on the theme "Studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style" phase 2, 2021-2025 was launched in June 2023. The preliminary board received 314 entries in many genres: Literature, music , theater, cinema, fine arts, dance, architecture, journalism and publishing.
This year's awards recognize the diversity of participants, especially the appearance of many young authors and first-time authors; works from the grassroots movement reflect the in-depth development of the creative movement from clubs, teams, and groups at the grassroots level.
Of the total number of applications, there are 153 works belonging to the professional sector (84 literary and artistic works; 69 press and publishing works) and 128 works belonging to the movement sector with many typical forms such as songs, folk songs, amateur music, poetry, short stories, memoirs, calligraphy, paintings, etc. Thereby, the Organizing Committee honored and awarded 127 authors, groups of authors, collectives and individuals in today's ceremony.
In the professional block, the Organizing Committee awarded 5 A prizes, 13 B prizes, 18 C prizes, 11 Encouragement prizes; promotion prizes were awarded to 14 groups and 16 individuals.
In the movement block, the Organizing Committee awarded 4 A prizes, 7 B prizes, 9 C prizes, and 15 Consolation prizes.
In addition, at the award ceremony, the Organizing Committee honored 12 works that won the Award for composing and promoting literary, artistic and journalistic works on the theme "Studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style" in the second phase, 2021-2025 period, organized by the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee, including: 2 B prizes, 4 C prizes, 4 Encouragement prizes and 2 promotion prizes.
The outstanding works awarded this year continue to affirm the position of literature, art and journalism in building Ho Chi Minh City people rich in humanity, affection and creativity; at the same time contributing to fostering cultural values and expanding Ho Chi Minh City's cultural space to the community.
