More than 1.3 billion VND in support for families affected by floods in Tay Tra and Tay Tra Bong communes

On the morning of December 5, at Tay Tra commune, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province organized a fund-raising ceremony to support households whose houses were damaged by storms and floods.

The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province gave support to 16 households whose houses were completely collapsed.

Attending the fund handover ceremony were Party Central Committee member, Provincial Party Secretary Ho Van Nien; members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee: Lu Ngoc Binh, Head of the Provincial Party Organization Committee; Truong Thi Linh, Head of the Provincial Party Internal Affairs Committee; Y Thi Bich Tho, Permanent Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; Nguyen Cong Hoang, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and leaders of departments, branches and sectors of the province.

Provincial Party Secretary Ho Van Nien presented gifts and shared the difficulties of households whose houses were damaged in the recent prolonged heavy rains.

He encouraged people to overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives. He requested local authorities to mobilize maximum resources to complete the project. He urgently made plans to support the construction of new collapsed houses and repair damaged houses so that families could soon stabilize their housing as soon as possible. In particular, the repair support must be completed before December 31, 2025; the construction of new houses must be completed before January 31, 2026 so that households can celebrate Tet in their new homes.

Ms. Huong is a war invalid, elderly, and an ethnic minority. Her house was severely damaged, and in the past, Ms. Huong had to temporarily stay at a relative's house. The Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee gave gifts and encouraged Ms. Huong's family to soon overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives.

The total cost of building a new house for Mrs. Huong is about 100 million VND. Of which, the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee supported 60 million VND; the Provincial Red Cross supported 10 million VND; the Tay Tra Commune Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee proposed to support about 20 million VND. The family borrowed the remaining amount to build a house and stabilize their lives.

During this period, the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee awarded more than 1.3 billion VND to support 20 families in Tay Tra commune and 13 families in Tay Tra Bong commune whose houses were damaged. Of which, 60 million VND/household was awarded to 16 households whose houses were completely collapsed; 30 million VND/household was awarded to 09 households whose houses were damaged from 50-70%; 15 million VND/household was awarded to 08 families whose houses were damaged from 30-50%.
