Promoting digital transformation in management and promotion of culture, sports, tourism, and geoparks

- On the morning of December 5, the working delegation of the Provincial People's Committee led by Mr. Doan Thanh Son, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, had a working session with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism (DCST) and the Provincial Center for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion (CTIP) on the implementation of tasks in 2025 and the directions and tasks in the coming time in the field of CST; tourism promotion activities and the implementation of contents related to the UNESCO Lang Son Global Geopark (GGP).

The working delegation included leaders of the Provincial People's Committee Office; a number of provincial departments, branches and sectors.

Regarding the field of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in 2025, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism will carry out 4 key tasks according to Decision 853/QD-UBND; up to now, 3 tasks have been completed including: advising on policies to preserve and promote cultural heritage associated with tourism through resolutions of the Provincial People's Council; organizing the International Yoga Festival and Indian cultural exchange in Lang Son; compiling a dossier of the heritage "Quan Lang singing of the Tay ethnic group in Lang Son province" to propose inclusion in the list of National Intangible Cultural Heritage.

The remaining task is to complete the procedures for establishing an investment policy for the project "Restoration and embellishment of the historical relic of Dong Dang Citadel" which is currently in progress.

Regarding regular tasks, the department has synchronously deployed the following areas: preserving, embellishing and promoting heritage values; strengthening state management of information, press and publishing; promoting the movement of physical training; and clearly recovering tourism activities. Quynh Son community tourism village was honored by the United Nations Tourism Organization (UNWTO) as "Best tourist village in 2025".

In 2025, Lang Son is expected to welcome over 4.4 million visitors (up 5.3% over the same period in 2024), with tourism revenue reaching about VND 4,500 billion (up 3.47% over the same period in 2024).

In promoting tourism and implementing tasks related to Lang Son UNESCO Global Geopark, the Center for Trade and Tourism Promotion completed and surpassed 4 key tasks including: promoting Lang Son tourism at the National Tourism Year of Thua Thien Hue 2025; advising on organizing the Ceremony to receive the Certificate of Lang Son UNESCO Global Geopark and sideline activities; promoting investment - trade - tourism, supporting investors in implementing projects; preparing documents to submit to UNWTO for the "Best Tourist Village" award, building Loc Binh eco-tourism products and applying digital transformation in tourism statistics.

Regarding the management of the UNESCO Lang Son Global Geopark, the center has advised on the development of documents on conservation and promotion of the value of the Geopark for the period 2025 - 2030, with a vision to 2035; draft regulations on management and environmental protection of the Geopark; signed agreements with 30 partners; strengthened propaganda, raised public awareness; promoted the promotion of the Geopark in the press and digital platforms.

At the meeting, delegates discussed and clarified the results achieved , the remaining difficulties and proposed directions for each field. Specifically: arranging leadership after rearranging public service units under the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism ; loudspeaker systems in communes, facilities for training of the Provincial Ethnic Arts Troupe; mechanisms, policies and regimes for coaches, athletes, actors; funding for organizing events and cultural, sports and tourism activities; improving the quality of community tourism villages...

Concluding the working session, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee acknowledged and highly appreciated the results achieved by the two units.

Regarding upcoming tasks, he requested units to review all tasks in the 2025 work plan, focusing on completing assigned targets.

For the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, it is necessary to continue to complete the project and plan to arrange affiliated units; proactively prepare for the Peach Blossom Festival and activities to celebrate the Party and celebrate spring 2026; strengthen guidance and urge communes and wards in managing relics and cultural institutions, especially religious relics to ensure compliance with regulations; advise on launching a green - clean emulation movement, environmental sanitation in the community; advise on developing a plan to organize the Cultural Festival of ethnic groups in central communes and wards in a rotating form, ensuring practicality and effectiveness.

He requested the two units to promote the application of digital transformation in the management and promotion of culture, sports and tourism, and geoparks; focus on communication on cyberspace and social networks so that information can be widely spread to the people.

For ongoing projects and works, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism closely coordinates with the Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board to unify related contents.

Regarding difficulties and problems, he requested the unit to synthesize and report specifically for the Provincial People's Committee to consider and direct timely resolution.
