Innovating propaganda from the power of digital transformation

In the context of strong digital transformation, propaganda and political education in the army have also been innovated in a modern and flexible direction to be closer and more vivid. Realizing that, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Tuan has advised the Party Committee and Regiment commander to deploy many models of applying information technology, social networks and artificial intelligence to propaganda activities.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Tuan and the Executive Committee of the grassroots Youth Union actively encouraged cadres and members to practice digital skills, effectively exploiting platforms such as Qime, ChatGPT, Gemini... to build high-quality propaganda products.

“Previously, the unit's propaganda activities were mainly carried out through concentrated activities and traditional articles. But now, cadres and union members have transformed the content into more vivid digital products, with music , images, illustrative videos and AI voices. Many videos, short clips, and propaganda reports have been carefully invested in and posted on the Division's social networking pages and groups, attracting thousands of views and many positive shares and comments,” Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Tuan shared.

A prominent mark in the Youth Union work of the Regiment is that Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Tuan organized and deployed for the Youth Union at all levels to expand online competitions such as "Proud to be a Youth Union member", competition to learn about Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality, and style, learning about the unit's traditions... He also brought art performances and dances in collective activities to the digital platform to organize interactive competitions. These playgrounds not only create a vibrant atmosphere among union members and youth but also help propaganda content spread more naturally and effectively.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Tuan, the initial phase of implementing the application of information technology encountered many obstacles when a number of cadres and union members were not familiar with video production, image editing or using digital software. However, with the spirit of learning and the guidance of the Executive Committee of the grassroots Youth Union, up to now, most union members have mastered the basic skills and are confident in producing propaganda products that are both politically correct and visually appealing.

Captain Ha Dinh Nam - Political Commissar of Company 5, Executive Committee Member of the 2nd Battalion's Youth Union said: "In the past, I was very hesitant to make videos because I was not familiar with using software. But after being guided by comrade Tuan and the Youth Union Executive Committee, and learning more on my own, I realized that this was not as difficult as I thought. Currently, every time the unit organizes online competitions or requests propaganda by topic, I participate in video production."

Initiatives from management practices

Besides promoting the power of digital transformation and innovating propaganda and education forms, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Tuan is also the author of the initiative "Application of software for online registration to visit military personnel".

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Tuan said: “In the past, every time a relative visited a soldier, the officer in charge had to receive information by phone or take notes by hand. Visiting lists, dates and times, number of people, contact addresses, etc. were all written on paper, making them prone to errors and difficult to compile and store. Not only was it time-consuming, this method also made coordination with families and localities less smooth, affecting the effectiveness of understanding the thoughts and social relationships of soldiers. From that reality, I researched and proposed the initiative of “Applying online registration software to visit soldiers” on the Google Form platform. Relatives of soldiers only need to scan the QR code or access the link to be able to register quickly and conveniently.”

The implementation of the “Online registration application for visiting military personnel” has shown remarkable effectiveness, helping the unit closely manage the relationship between soldiers and promptly grasp and handle arising ideological issues. Thanks to that, the Regiment prevents risks affecting the collective and the image of “Uncle Ho’s soldiers”, contributing to building a clean, strong, “Exemplary, typical” Party organization. This initiative won the B prize at the Military Region level in 2025.

With the spirit of daring to think, daring to do and always innovating, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Tuan has achieved many outstanding achievements: for many consecutive years he was awarded the title of Advanced Soldier, a certificate of merit for participating in the fight against wrong, hostile, and opportunistic views in cyberspace in the army; in 2025 he won two First Prizes in competitions to learn about the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South, National Reunification and the 80th anniversary of the glorious history of Military Region 7. Recently, he was awarded the title of Emulation Soldier by the Division for his outstanding achievements in the 2025 Emulation Movement./.
