Tay Ninh considers investment policy for Go Dau - Xa Mat expressway phase 1

On the morning of December 5, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Lam chaired a meeting to listen to a report on the proposed investment policy for the Go Dau - Xa Mat Expressway project, phase 1. The meeting was held in a combination of in-person and online meetings with localities where the project passes through.

At the conference, the consulting unit presented the current status, related planning, investment necessity, preliminary design plan, site clearance needs, total investment and financial plan of the project. Provincial leaders and related departments and branches discussed and clarified some contents to complete the dossier for submission to competent authorities for consideration.

The Go Dau – Xa Mat Expressway construction investment project, phase 1, is proposed to be implemented under the public-private partnership (PPP) method, Build – Operate – Transfer (BOT) contract type.

The expressway starts at the Ho Chi Minh City - Moc Bai expressway in Phuoc Thanh commune and ends at Xa Mat border gate. The total length of the route is about 65km, with 4 lanes and a designed speed of 120km/h, passing through the following areas: Phuoc Thanh commune, Thanh Duc commune, Long Hoa ward, Cau Khoi commune and Tan Ninh ward. The total estimated investment is more than 10,266 billion VND, with the need to clear about 248 hectares of land.

The Go Dau – Xa Mat expressway construction investment project, phase 1, has its starting point connecting with the Ho Chi Minh City – Moc Bai expressway in Phuoc Thanh commune and its ending point at Xa Mat border gate.

Concluding the working session, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Lam requested the consulting unit to seriously absorb all comments and complete the project report in accordance with legal regulations and procedures for submission to the Provincial People's Committee for reporting to the Provincial Party Standing Committee for consideration.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized that the complete report must clearly state the scope, impact and handling options related to site clearance work, because this is an item that has a direct impact on the progress, cost and feasibility of the entire project.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee proposed to supplement, compare and evaluate the plan to expand the cross-section from the currently proposed 4 lanes to the 6-8 lane plan to meet future traffic demand and reduce future expansion costs. At the same time, it is necessary to calculate compensation costs according to the 2026 land price list and develop feasible financial scenarios, ensuring that the project has a basis for implementation right from the beginning./.
