Leaders of the City Journalists Association presented flowers to congratulate the Congress.

The 2023 - 2025 term is a period with many special marks. Before the merger, Hue Today Newspaper and Hue Radio and Television Station were both key press agencies of the province, making important contributions to socio-economic development and the process of turning Thua Thien Hue into a centrally-run city.

On July 1, two press agencies merged to form a single multimedia unit: Hue Newspaper and Radio and Television. Along with that event, the merged Journalists Association also officially came into operation with a new role and scale, meeting higher requirements for political work, expertise and association activities.

Despite the large workload and pressure, with the spirit of solidarity and responsibility, the Association has achieved many outstanding results, contributing to building the image of the team of journalists of Hue Newspaper and High School as professional - brave - humane - modern.

Accordingly, the Secretariat of the Association proactively advises and develops plans to produce high-quality press works every year; organizes evaluation and selection of outstanding works to propose the Vietnam Journalists Association for investment support, creating motivation to improve product quality.

Hue Ngay Nay Newspaper and Hue Radio and Television Station (old) won many high awards at provincial, ministerial, industry and central press awards.

The Congress reviewed, discussed and reached a high consensus on the Summary Report for the 2023 - 2025 term and the direction and tasks for the new term.

The branch sets out specific goals and tasks: 100% of members participate in studying the directives and resolutions of the Central Committee, City Party Committee and Journalists Association at all levels; admit all qualified reporters and editors into the branch; organize at least 2 thematic activities each year, associated with improving the quality of journalistic works; organize 2-3 professional training courses annually (on-site, in person or online); strive to have 20 award-winning journalistic works each year; during the term, 2-3 works win awards at the national, ministerial and sectoral levels; over 95% of members complete their tasks well; each year 1-2 members are commended by superiors; no member violates professional ethics; strives to achieve the title of Excellent Branch for the entire term.

The Secretariat of the Journalists Association for the 2025 - 2028 term was introduced to the Congress

Speaking at the congress, Vice President of Hue City Journalists Association, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Hue Newspaper and Television Truong Dien Thong suggested that the Association for the 2025 - 2028 term focus on four key tasks.

Firstly, improve the quality of content and form of print newspapers, electronic newspapers, radio and television; promote digital transformation, multi-platform development; ensure objectivity, accuracy and humanity in each press product.

Second, focus on training and fostering a team of reporters and editors in a professional and modern direction; create conditions for members to participate in training courses and seminars related to their profession, and encourage creativity.

Third, strengthen propaganda and spread the image of Hue - a heritage city, Festival, creative city; promote potential, attract investment, and promote socio-economic development.

Fourth, uphold professional ethics; strictly implement the Press Law and the Code of Professional Ethics for Journalists; resolutely fight against false and negative information; contribute to protecting the Party's ideological foundation.

On this occasion, the Congress elected the Secretariat of the Journalists Association for the 2025 - 2028 term, consisting of members with qualities, capacity, prestige, and ability to lead the Association in the new development period.
