Delegates performed the inauguration ceremony of the YUCHAI Engine Manufacturing and Production Plant.

Attending the ceremony were Party Central Committee member, Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Dinh Trung; Party Central Committee member, Chairman of the City People's Council, Head of the National Assembly Delegation Le Truong Luu; Deputy Party Committee Secretary, Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Khac Toan; Party Committee Standing Committee member, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Phan Quy Phuong.

The factory is built on an area of ​​6.5 hectares, with an initial investment capital of 260 million USD. Modern, synchronized technological lines with 90% automation allow for the production of a variety of automobile, ship, agricultural machinery and generator engines.

In the first phase, the 2.5-hectare factory focuses on assembling diesel internal combustion engines with a capacity of more than 40,000 engines/year, equivalent to 3 minutes for 1 engine. Entering the second phase, Kim Long Motor and YUCHAI Group will expand the core components processing line, localize auxiliary parts, and operate a modern blank production plant, increasing the localization rate to 80%.

At the inauguration ceremony, the first two products, YUCHAI K11 and YUCHAI Y24, were manufactured, marking an important step forward in the strategy of mastering core technology in the engine manufacturing industry in Vietnam.

Within the framework of the event, Kim Long Motor and YUCHAI Group signed a Strategic Cooperation Program Contract and handed over the factory operation in Vietnam, and signed an agreement to supply KIM LONG 99 buses to transport enterprises, expanding modern transport solutions and the domestic market.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Member of the City Party Committee, Vice Chairman of Hue City People's Committee Phan Quy Phuong congratulated Kim Long Motor Hue Joint Stock Company on completing and putting into operation the YUCHAI engine manufacturing and production factory - an important item of the Kim Long Motor Hue production and assembly complex.

Mr. Phan Quy Phuong acknowledged the investor's efforts in accelerating site clearance, completing planning, construction and environmental procedures to implement the project in a short time, and highly appreciated the coordination of departments, branches and localities. Up to now, the project has disbursed more than 12,000 billion VND, completed phase 1 and is implementing phases 2 and 3.

According to Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Phan Quy Phuong, since coming into operation (February 2024), Kim Long Motor's passenger car assembly plant has produced 5,500 vehicles, contributing about VND 1,850 billion to the budget and creating jobs for nearly 3,200 workers.

The commissioning of the YUCHAI Engine Manufacturing and Production Plant with an investment capital of 260 million USD, an area of ​​20 hectares, and a level of automation of 90% is assessed by Mr. Phan Quy Phuong as an important milestone of the Vietnamese automobile industry, opening up the possibility of increasing the localization rate, expanding the market to ASEAN and Korea, and gradually participating more deeply in the global supply chain.

Mr. Phan Quy Phuong requested the investor to continue to focus resources to complete the entire project according to the approved schedule; at the same time, requested the departments, branches and the People's Committee of Chan May - Lang Co commune to continue to support, remove obstacles, and ensure the project is implemented as planned.
