Many households proactively turn off equipment when not needed, adjust the load during peak hours; agencies, units and businesses have gradually formed internal regulations on electricity consumption. Changing electricity usage habits, though small, adds up to create a significant amount of savings for the entire area.

PC Hue responds to the annual "Earth Hour"

In technical management, PC Hue closely coordinates with key energy users, controls consumption output and consults on operational optimization solutions. The telemetry system is widely applied, helping to monitor loads in real time, detect abnormalities and support customers in adjusting demand, reducing losses and increasing electricity efficiency. For businesses, the largest load group in the city's electricity consumption structure, many energy saving solutions have been deployed, such as improving production lines, installing high-efficiency lighting, reactive power compensation systems, etc. In particular, the rooftop solar power model has developed strongly with 677 customers, with a total capacity of 75.2 MWp, creating a significant source of renewable energy for the local power system.

An important milestone is that PC Hue has effectively implemented the electricity demand management program (DSM/DR). To date, 138 large customers have participated in the non-commercial load adjustment program, with the potential to reduce 16.3 MW. The annual load adjustment periods during the hot season help reduce peak capacity by 3-5 MW, contributing to ensuring safe system operation. In addition, 93 enterprises have signed agreements to shift load to off-peak hours, with a total shifted capacity of 6.66 MW, helping to reduce pressure on the peak-hour grid and optimize costs for enterprises.

Save electricity effectively

Mr. Nguyen Dai Phuc, Director of PC Hue informed that in the period of 2019-2025, the city's total energy saving rate reached 2-2.5% of commercial electricity per year, equivalent to 41-56 million kWh. This is a stable and sustainable saving rate, achieving the target according to Directive 20/CT-TTg of the Prime Minister . In particular, all load groups achieved and exceeded the set target: Administrative and career sector energy saving 5.25%; public lighting system saving 30.5%; household consumption sector saving 2.14%; business - trade and service sector saving 2.15% and industrial production sector saving 2.17%. "The above results show that the effectiveness of propaganda, technical work and inter-sectoral coordination between units in the area is quite good" - Director of PC Hue said.

Along with energy saving, the city's electricity supply also recorded clear progress. In 2025, the maximum load capacity (Pmax) reached 403.56 MW, an increase of 34.3% compared to 2019; commercial electricity is estimated at 2,222 million kWh, an increase of 1.25 times compared to 2019. The power loss rate decreased to 4.65%, meeting the requirements of Directive 20/CT-TTg in 2023 and being in the group of localities with efficient operation.

In addition, PC Hue also actively and proactively advises the city on developing annual plans for energy saving and efficiency. Specifically, PC Hue coordinates with the Department of Industry and Trade to update the list of key energy-using establishments and important customers, and provide periodic electricity consumption data for management. This is an important foundation for the city to issue load regulation policies in accordance with actual developments.

PC Hue is also a pioneer in digital transformation of the electricity industry. The system of analyzing load data, forecasting demand and monitoring electricity usage in real time is deployed synchronously, contributing to improving the quality of energy management. Community activities, such as the "Households save electricity" contest, the "New rural light" program supporting the replacement of LED bulbs and the installation of solar lights continue to be expanded, creating a widespread effect to each hamlet and residential area.

In addition, PC Hue seriously implements the solutions in Directive 20/CT-TTg of the Prime Minister on strengthening energy saving in the period of 2023-2025 and the coming time to ensure all energy saving activities with specific results, contributing to the goal of sustainable energy development in the locality.
