The province aims to have basically no poor households by 2030 according to the multidimensional poverty standard. It will promote livelihood diversification, encourage poverty reduction models through production support, technology transfer, trade promotion, and prioritize poor households headed by women, people with disabilities, and ethnic minorities.

Implementing the National Target Program on Poverty Reduction, Phu Tho province strives to reduce the poverty rate by 2025 to 2.75%, ensuring that 100% of poor, near-poor, and newly escaped-poverty households in need and eligible for preferential credit loans, and 100% of people in poor and near-poor households are supported to participate in health insurance.

To achieve this goal, the province mobilized 306 billion VND to implement the Sustainable Poverty Reduction Program in 2025; of which, the central budget supported 274.8 billion VND, the local budget more than 21 billion VND and about 10 billion VND mobilized from the community and enterprises. Phu Tho will focus on implementing 7 key project groups. The province focuses on developing socio -economic infrastructure in disadvantaged communes such as Da Bac, Duc Nhan, Quy Duc, Tan Pheo, Tien Phong, Cao Son (belonging to the old Da Bac district). The province promotes livelihood diversification, encourages poverty reduction models through production support, technology transfer, trade promotion, and prioritizes poor households headed by women, people with disabilities and ethnic minorities.

Phu Tho strives for 100% of poor and near-poor households to be supported to participate in health insurance.

The province promotes projects to support production development, improve nutrition; develop vocational education, sustainable employment; support housing for poor and near-poor households; communication and information poverty reduction; improve capacity and monitor and evaluate poverty reduction programs. In addition, Phu Tho continues to effectively implement poverty reduction policies such as: Preferential credit for poor households; education support; health care support; clean water and sanitation; access to information; electricity bill support for the poor.

Identifying that preferential loans are the key to helping poor and near-poor households escape poverty, Phu Tho requested the Provincial Social Policy Bank to review the loan needs of poor and near-poor households and promptly deploy preferential credit sources to beneficiaries according to regulations. The province continues to effectively implement preferential credit policies for students, especially poor students and students from families with difficult circumstances; ensuring that members of poor and near-poor households who need to work abroad can borrow capital from the Social Policy Bank.

Departments, branches and organizations strictly implement the process of reviewing poor and near-poor households in 2025, accurately reflecting the socio-economic situation of the locality; review and classify poor and near-poor households to ensure accuracy, fairness and no subjects are left out. Localities promote propaganda on the goal of deep poverty reduction to all levels, branches, classes of people and the poor to change and transform awareness in poverty reduction work, arouse the will to be proactive and rise up of the poor, mobilize people to contribute to poverty reduction work, receive and effectively use policies and support resources from the State and the community to escape poverty.

The province continues to effectively implement preferential credit policies for students, especially poor students and students from families with difficult circumstances.

In the past 5 years, the three provinces of Phu Tho, Vinh Phuc, and Hoa Binh (now Phu Tho province) have mobilized more than 70,316 billion VND to implement national target programs. In the period of 2021 - 2025, 16/85 communes have escaped the category of extremely difficult, the remaining 69 communes are in region III; 1,596 households received housing support, 5,236 households changed jobs, 19,899 households had clean water; more than 7,800 poor and near-poor workers received career counseling and orientation; 6,000 workers had stable jobs. The rate of poor households in ethnic minority and mountainous areas decreased by an average of 1.3% per year; 100% of poor and near-poor households participated in health insurance; the rate of poor children going to school at the right age reached nearly 97%; stunted malnourished children decreased to 13.5%.

The province aims to have basically no poor households by 2030 according to the multidimensional poverty standard. To achieve this goal, in the coming time, the province will mobilize resources to invest in building regional infrastructure, serving people's lives, production, and circulation of goods in poor communes; support poor areas to develop socio-economic infrastructure, improve people's quality of life and promote economic growth. Phu Tho will support production development, diversify livelihoods and overcome multidimensional poverty indicators in 12 mountainous and remote communes with a multidimensional poverty rate of 35% or more. The province will develop specific poverty reduction policies for two groups: poor households that are unable to escape poverty and poor households that are able to escape poverty, linked to the budget allocation mechanism, integrating programs and projects to increase efficiency.
