The Vietnamese Film Week in Laos was premiered from December 2-6, introducing six outstanding works that won high awards at Vietnamese Film Festivals, such as the documentary "President Kaysone Phomvihane with Vietnam", the films "Two Mothers", "Red Rain", "Death Battle in the Sky", "Tunnel: The Sun in the Dark" and "I See Yellow Flowers on the Green Grass".
In his opening speech, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam Ta Quang Dong said that the Vietnam Film Week in Laos and the Photo Exhibition: Vietnam - Laos Relations are a meaningful cultural and artistic bridge, helping to enhance mutual understanding between the people of the two countries, creating an opportunity for us to review the glorious golden pages of the traditional friendship. Each film and each photo is a vivid proof of the steadfast friendship, of sharing and mutual support in all circumstances between the two peoples of Vietnam and Laos. The films selected in this Vietnam Film Week not only reflect the rich culture and history of Vietnam but also demonstrate the spirit of solidarity, love and aspiration for peace and development of the Vietnamese people.
Besides, The Vietnam - Laos Relations Photo Exhibition displays historical images and milestones in the special friendship between the two peoples; depicting the historical exchange and cooperation between the two countries in the fields of politics, economics, culture, society, defense and security. Each photo is a story, a vivid demonstration of the strong solidarity, comprehensive cooperation and absolute trust between the two Parties, two States and two peoples. These are images that affirm that the Vietnam - Laos relationship is not only a relationship between two neighboring countries, but also a special relationship, a great friendship, a priceless common asset of the two peoples. I believe that this Photo Exhibition will be a source of inspiration, pride, reminding each of us of the responsibility to preserve and promote this precious relationship, especially for the young generations of the two countries.
"On the occasion of the 105th anniversary of the birth of President Kaysone Phomvihane - the talented leader of the Lao people, a great friend and close comrade of the Party and people of Vietnam, the Opening Ceremony will screen a documentary about his life and great revolutionary career. In his opening speech, Mr. Vansy Kuamua - Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Lao People's Democratic Republic said that in the joyful atmosphere of the Lao ethnic people towards the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Lao People's Democratic Republic and the 105th anniversary of the birth of President Kaysone Phomvihane, the activity contributed to consolidating and enhancing the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two peoples of Laos and Vietnam, Vietnam and Laos.
Mr. Vansy Kuamua highly appreciated the films shown at the Vietnam Film Week and especially the Photo Exhibition, which are vivid evidence reflecting important historical events and communicating the wise leadership, bravery and noble sacrifice of the ancestors of the two countries.
